I especially miss Ujimasa and Kotaro but also Kanbei and Tsuruhime. 

Ah, Sengoku Basara... so full of crack and heartwarming buddyness. 

I just right out ignore the drama. 

Also if anyone sees Matsunaga wearing a “Kotaro-Fanclub President” shirt, just send him this way.

Tsuruhime, you’re literally NAMED after a bird,, how did you never try that angle with Kotaro, a known bird aficionado

Hi I was wondering, between Tsuruhime and Kotaro, who do you think would develop feelings first? Did they deny these feeling or accept them?

Hi again! And again sorry for the late response.

I had to think about this a lot because in my mind I have different headcanons that I equally enjoy and the most galaxy bain might be that Kotaro is actually bird-brained and thinks that Tsuruhime is literally a bird (little crane) and thus rescuing her (bc. he loves birds) just makes sense. I love to imagine Kotaro bringing Tsuruhime to an actual nest which would confuse her to no end. XD

But… we know that Kotaro is capable of real thinking so that is just a joke.

On more realistic terms I think it‘s clear that Tsuruhime first developed feelings for Kotaro, or more like a really strong crush, because this is not love.

We know that Kotaro saved Tsuruhime for some reason (either I can’t remember which or I never knew) and that somehow triggered her fangirling (which is quite reasonable so far, tbh).

Anyway, one day she has to learn (had learned?) that Kotaro is part of Ujimasas army and so will find her “💕 Twilight Ninja 💕” because she and Ujimasa are friends and i think she occassionally visited him to watch the Sakura-trees?

Now another headcanon (and I think that is what you asked for?)… this could be the point to actually learn about each other. 

Like Tsuruhime has a very specific picture of her “💕 Twilight Ninja 💕” that might have nothing to do with reality (but since Kotaros character is hard to pinpoint I guess fans have the same problem) and seeing / meeting him in every day life, while her stay at Odwara castle, might change the picture. 

And let’s be honest in the beginning it will be a lot of cat and mouse with him running away whenever she thinks she got him. 

But I like to imagine, that her feelings would simmer down after some time, to a less burning passion and become more of a constant warmth. A more grown up kind of love.

On the other side Kotaro might become more comfortable around her, still rescuing her from time to time and keeping a watchful eye on her while avoiding her at the same time. I don‘t know why he is doing what he is doing and I can‘t really see it as love but he somehow sees her as something worthy of protection. Also she is a friend of Ujimasa and that is another reason to help. At the same time I‘d love to see him realise that Tsuruhime is capable of fighting and that is something to admire.

So, im eventually really falling in love would take more time and being more of a growing affection towards her. 

So yeah, I started to rant a bit but I still struggle to make sense of my own thoughts (mind you why I never wrote fanfiction for those two) but to make a tl;dr: I think that Tsuruhime first developed feelings as in her crush while later they both grow deeper feelings mutually. 

It will be harder for Kotaro (for reasons unknown but headcanons might help) to accept this but eventually they’ll come to terms with each other.

Tsuruhime falling in love with the merman that saved her from drowning, Kotaro giving his voice to Matsunaga to be able to walk on land, Kasuga and Sasuke somehow getting roped into helping Kotaro fulfill Matsunaga's demands before his time runs out.
