PREMIERE VIDEO: Kouben - On The Phone

My first contribution to Cassette Rewind was a piece on Shoeboxx Recordings' very own prodigy, Dreamghost and his EP Crystal Clouds. However,that was only a small taste from the world market of fresh talent offered up by Shoeboxx Recordings because today, I am proud to present the exclusive video premiere of Kouben's "On The Phone", from his forthcoming debut, Oracle.

Kouben, age 21, resides in Birmingham, England with his fiance, and is on the verge of graduating from UNI. Ambitious and driven, he has high hopes of his Oracle being the key ingredient needed to expand his following — thus fulfilling his lifelong dream of opening minds and controlling vibes. With musical influences to the likes of xxyyxx and dream koala, he produces an ambient electronic flavor that is best served chilled. Smooth R&B melodies melt into crisp hip-hop beats creating a marinade of sound that is savory and delicious.

Famed L.A. director Pablang Woo and film maker Noel Avarenga of PRISM : code: STUDIOS dialed into Kouben’s "On the Phone" for the production of their most recent video collage, Exit. An exquisite portrayal of the track, Exit takes us on a liquid transit ride to convey the urban fluidity that embodies Kouben’s style. This marks the completion of Prims studios 5th project, but I have a feeling that their journey, as well as Kouben's, is far from over. 

Oracle will be released tomorrow both digitally and on a limited cassette run of 50 via bandcamp.
