at least 20 times a day i look up “smosh x reader” and “spencer angnew x reader” and like every other smosh member x reader and i get sad there’s not 80 million new fics uploaded for me to read because i got too hyperfixated and read every single smosh x reader fic in like a week and now i’m sad

why is everyone on this app so god damn fucking horny all the time?? can’t someone just read fluff in peace with NO SMUT?? every single time i click on any mcr fanfic tab its filled with filth after filth of smut, which is fine if that’s your thing, but holy shit can we please have something for people who don’t like to read smut every single second of every day?? like as someone who is on the asexual spectrum it feels suffocating sometimes to just be forced to see smut when that’s not what i want to read and/or i am not in the mood. even specifying “fluff” on the search bar doesn’t help because it’s still filled with smut. and further more can we please tag our fanfics correctly when it contains smut. the amount of times i click on a fanfic thinking there will be no smut since its not tagged and it’s just filled with filth needs to stop. i literally can’t escape it like please i just want to read cute fanfiction about emo boys without them trying to stick their dick into everything😭😭

if anyone has any recommendations for non smut fanfics (specifically x reader) please inform me!! i want to support fanfic writers but i also want to be able to read what i want without being forced to see things i don’t.

so to clarify something real quick, i have no hate towards smut fanfic. i actually read smut fanfiction quite often and it was actually some of the first fanfiction i ever read. however i’ve noticed recently that smut fanfiction is just about ALL there seems to be with mcr when a year ago i could click on the mcr x reader tab and it was very versatile and had a lot of variety in what you read.

i was not trying to offend anyone with my rant or make it seem like i am trying to make people stop writing smut fanfiction, it was instead me trying to get more people to venture out on different genres of fanfiction so that more people can enjoy this side of the fandom. i am a very big believer on fanfiction is one of the best ways to engage in a fandom no matter what fandom you’re apart of, but when it’s very limited to a specific genre it can be hard for certain people to engage when it’s something that is not their cup of tea.

again this is absolutely no hate to anyone who writes or reads this type of fanfiction, just wanted a place to rant about how i feel about fanfiction and where it has come in the past year or so. i apologize if the original post came off as harmful or hateful, that was never my intention on my rant. much love :)

the amount of hate i have seen on fanfiction recently has got to be addressed. i have seen multiple creators recently from multiple different fandoms come forward with either sharing the hate they have gotten or leaving the platform because of the hate. if you are someone who hates on fanfiction you are the scum of the earth and hate joy and whimsy. if what a certain creator writes is not your cup of tea, that is okay. there are a lot of creators that i personally don’t enjoy certain works of theirs and some that i just don’t personally enjoy anything they create. i have however never sent them hate. i just scroll past or i block them. it is that simple to avoid something like that and it takes 10x less energy than if you were hating on them. if the creator is not actively harming anyone or going against a boundary set by the person they are writing fanfiction about, i don’t see why someone writing fanfiction is so bad. fanfiction is an outlet for a lot of people to express themselves and for a lot of people a place of comfort when they read them. there is fanfiction for quite literally every single fandom imaginable. it breaks my heart to see all these talented writers getting hate just for doing something they enjoy, and i hope that any writer who has left fanfiction writing due to hate finds their way back someday to a hate free space. please, be kind to each other<3

i really want to start writing mcr fanfics but i fear i may have waited too long to do so since i start college again today and i fear i won’t have time to write😭😭

i really want to tho because i have so many ideas and i used to write fanfics back in middle school and had so much fun doing so.

should i just give it a try and see if it works out?? i dont want to start writing and then disappoint anyone who enjoys my fics by not writing as much as i probably should.

what do yall think??
