Animal Collective - Feels Today is a sick day for me so I'm going with some comfort food. Probably my favourite Animal Collective album and one of my favourite albums of all time. The energy across this album is so infectious. One thing AnCo is great at is capturing youth, whether it's childhood or teenage love their music, despite its noisiness, is earnest and endearing. The drums across this record I am particularly fond of. The spirit of the percussion here would go on to be often imitated by other bands but never replicated. I always muse on music tattoo ideas and a Feels tattoo has crossed my mind many times. Not sure I'll ever do it but this album has always occupied a large spot in my heart. This album features two band members who are only on this album.
