tinder? xD
Pfft, I can just imagine it. Nonbinary person with a shitton of specific requirements looking for likeminded individuals. Aaaaaaa XD

woop woop. i am also a member of the “blocked traumatic memories” club so this is an offer to talk to me about that… and as for the system stuff, maybe if it works for you, it’s not so important what the exact diagnostic name is? idk, i just think diagnoses and stuff are always somehow too simplified and pathologized
*high-fives* I've found your tweets on the subject helpful, but currently I don't have more to say. I'll remember the offer if/when I make a new discovery or start doubting again, though. :) And yeah, ultimately I don't care about the exact diagnosis that much, but periodically I go through phases where I MUST ACQUIRE ALL THE KNOWLEDGE and it generally tends to help. Unless I can't find anything that fits, but ... amazingly, I finally seem to be past that point. o.O

i don't do the rereading thing, i'm more of a "skip random passages without noticing" type. but i relate to remembering general layout and random visual details
That happens to me as well, though! Reading longer texts is difficult most of the time, unless I manage to hyperfocus or my brain spontaneously decides to have mercy on me. :P Or unless it's something that I just wrote, I guess, which makes sense since I already know the content and only need to pay attention to things like flow and … y'know, stuff. *forgets words*
I wouldn't say I remember the general layout of places. It's more like. Um. A jumble of emotions, sensations, associations, and perhaps the size of the place, whether it was dark and cramped or bright and open (neither of these are comfortable, lol, I think something in the middle would be best), and weird things like "there was a lot of metal", though of course the more time I've spent somewhere the more will stick. And if there's something special about the layout, like impressive symmetry, then that will stick out to me in the same way as interesting visual details do …

(tip: definitely get a case for the kindle too, protection makes things last longer etc)
Yep, I intend to do that! I used to skip anything that would add extra cost, but now that I have the chance, I'm always buying cases and such (most recently: for my 3DS).
you asked why people use chew toys instead of gum? i can explain! 1) gum is flavoured and that is not always what is wanted. 2) gum is very small and soft. chew toys are harder and bigger so they are better to really CHEW on. also gum does not give strong or "the right" tactile input. 3) gum stays in your mouth until you spit it out. you can't put it in for 2 seconds, take it out, put it in again, take it out again. so: good that gum works for you! other people have different sensory needs :)
ah this absolutely makes sense thank you for clarifying!

i feel like i'm kinda overestimating my importance here, but jsyk, if you ever feel like you want to talk to someone and that includes me, you don't need to say anything useful or even understandable... send me train noises or photos of your teacup, any communication is good communication
Aww, thank you. :) I really appreciate being told this kind of thing - it's not quite what I was going for because my problem isn't necessarily that I worry what the other person will think, it's that I myself would rather talk about something more interesting, if only I could … but ON THE OTHER HAND (this is turning into quite the run-on sentence lol), being "given permission" to talk nonsense reminds me that's even an option! And it's always good to know which of my friends would welcome that instead of being like "wtf". :D
Don't be disappointed if I never take you up on it, though - it would just mean I forgot again.

geht vllt auch "nur" taxi statt krankenwagen?
Wahrscheinlich nicht. Ich mein, wenn's nicht ganz so schlimm wär, möglicherweise. Aber ich gehe ja vom schlimmsten Fall aus …
