The one thing I can see artists using insta rather than tumblr for is commissions but if you want to be part of a fandom community and make mutuals/friends and stuff that's 100% more achievable on tumblr. Also ew facebook

right?? tbh i think twitter/tiktok has just completely changed the way fandoms operate nowadays, a lot of people probably never experienced fandoms the way we did before the tumblr purge and have no clue how much of an actual community it could be

the only time i get that same feeling is when i post in somewhat dead fandoms on tumblr where theres a small pool of fans, whereas when i do it on twitter i just get no interactions whatsoever bc the algorithm isnt going to pick it up lmao
