What were Kara's original career plans before things went haywire with Lena?

She wanted to be a journalist, same as her cousin. Unlike Clark, who mainly does it to keep appraised of important events and give voice to the disenfranchised, Kara's aim was to make sure Earth wouldn't suffer Krypton's fate by making sure to champion the truth and expose corruption and disinformation no matter what. She may have left that career path behind, but the anti-blind faith in authority streak remains very much at the core of her philosophy.

Remember that Dr. Graham is talking to a civilian. Yes, Claire is being recruited, but she’s being hired as the manager of this particular operation. No reason to spell out the fact that SHIELD largely handwaves international law away to her.

But you’re right, of course. Monarch’s recognition of Ka-Zar’s claim was merely an excuse to legitimize the process of setting up shop there. SHIELD answers only to the World Security Council, which ultimately answers to itself, so it’s not like the clandestine nature of Monarch’s activities in the Savage Land worried them at all, but the paperwork is much easier to keep if they just pretend like they got there after Ka-Zar, and that his claim has any real validity. It prevents having to deal with investigations and committees - sure, they’d ultimately get away with it, but if you can avoid the scrutiny, why not go for it?

If Ka-Zar proved to be a bother tomorrow, they would simply have him removed. But why bother? This real life Tarzan and his wife have no subjects other than an abnormally large and intelligent Ice Age cat. His self imposed duty is exploring and protecting the Savage Land. What’s the harm in letting the guy think himself king?

The latest sneak peak of Vantage made me start rereading some highlights of the series, and I think I caught something: Ben references the Toho Company in response to Animo suggesting he'll create a giant marine iguana mutant to ravage Tokyo. Given the apparent inclusion of Monarch and thus the Monsterverse, is this another Mass Effect, where Doom and Richard caused a retcon while Ben had the Omnitrix (before they did the Mass Effect one), or is Toho part of a cover-up?

Well, first off, thank you for reading enough to catch that haha. Second off, it's not the first time this has happened. Just off the top of my head, I had Chloé reference Sailor Moon in her fic, and look what's happened since. I might go back and change those lines someday, but probably not. I think it's kinda funny, even if it might be confusing for the few readers who go out of their way to read everything in the Kverse.

Anyway, out of universe it’s a case where I had resigned myself not to feature Godzilla and other cool kaiju, the reasons for which I’ve discussed at length before but basically boil down to “I don’t want the associated carnage”. Ultimately, I convinced myself that, given this is a universe full of superheroes, magic, and advanced technology, I should be able to justify curbing some of that collateral damage if I need/want to. I'm generally not as strict with inclusions as I was before, simply put - end of the day, and aside from the stories I want to tell with it, the Kverse is a celebration of the things I love in fiction.

In-universe, a movie was made based on the real life accounts of brief (and often violent) encounters with the creature between 1945 and 1954. The character briefly became popular for the same reasons it did in real life - a personification of Japan's post-war fear of the bomb - and the Japanese govt. fostered this, using it to cover up the real life events (a strategy that would be popular for them and other cover-ups, as you'll later see). The property eventually fell into niche obscurity, as rumored Godzilla sightings ceased for decades after. If you think about it, it's kinda no different in-universe than Disney making Hercules and then the public finding out the Greek gods are real.

Julie knows about it because she's a horror movie buff, and she watched the original movie with Ben, and that's where Ben got the reference from. You could argue there's some weird Multiverse fuckery going on there 'cause the marine iguana thing is valid only for Zilla, but I choose to believe Ben just didn't pay enough attention to the details lol

(To be clear, the Godzilla integration is part of the 116 iterations D&R have enacted prior to the Kverse's story proper. There hasn't been enough time in the story since the Mass Effect retcon for another god to be harvested for a new retcon, and now that characters such as Dr. Strange are aware, they would've known to look for it)

Lightning round question, could Yellow Diamond beat Loki in a fight and would they have particularly strong feelings if they met? If you somehow guess my reasoning for this question then I'll....er.....I don't really have incentive.... I'll post some fanart? Try and mostly likely fail to convince one ofy relatives to read your very good work? Regardless, the clues lie in my next two questions.

Is Lilia calderu from Agatha All Along anywhere in the Krypton verse, and are there any similarities between Magnus chase and the MCU nine realms, since we never actually saw much of them (particularly vanaheim, home of Frey and the vanir)

I don’t really like doing Death Battle style victor declarations like that ‘cause I believe a competent author should be able to justify their desired outcome. If I had to say, I guess, no extenuating factors involved, pound for pound, any of the Diamonds could defeat Loki without much issue - but it’s Loki, so it’s never that straight-forward, is it?

Agatha All Along, same as the rest of Phase 4 onwards, was released after the bulk of the Kverse’s storyline was planned out, so it’s questionable canon at best, and more than likely not to happen in the way it did (or at all). That being said, if I find a good niche for post-Endgame characters and concepts to fill, I’m not opposed to doing so. I have no current plans for Lilia Calderu (and have yet to watch that show to begin with), but never say never, I suppose.

There’s some similarities, but they’re more different than they are alike. I can’t say much on this because it’s spoiler city, but we’ll visit some locations throughout Yggdrasil for sure.

This is once again a shorter question, hopefully by the end of this I'll just be asking yes/no questions and saving you the trouble.

In the guardians of the galaxy game (don't worry this isn't a spoiler) there's a character called Lady Hellbender, the monster queen of Seknarf 9. She was a sacrificial virgin chosen by the monster worshipping priests that ruled her planet, until she tamed the beast she was thrown to and took over. She overthrew the priests and built a monster army/sanctuary from the deadliest creatures in the galaxy. If she were in the kryptonverse, what kinds of aliens would she seek out? I mostly ask because I don't know much about Mass Effect or voltron, and it's been a while since I properly watched ben 10 or transformers. Although the term monster is a bit vague and I think she'd be willing to accept any sufficiently dangerous and misunderstood/feared/reviled alien (since she had her eyes on groot and rocket) for simplicities sake I'm curious about more animalistic kinds, whether natural or created by science. Oh dear god, are corrupted gems widely known about? If so I don't know if she'd consider them a fools errand or a worthy part of her collection.

I'm only vaguely familiar with Lady Hellbender from the playthrough I partially watched back when the game came out, but I think you kinda answered your own question, from the sounds of it - assuming she's ever featured in the Kverse (which I currently have no plans for, to be clear), I imagine she'd be looking precisely for dangerous alien beings to capture and safeguard from others seeking to slay them. Can't really give you any Voltron specifics 'cause the vast majority of the show takes place outside the Milky Way, and there's actually not a lot of conventional sci-fi "monsters" in Mass Effect, aside from the thresher maws (huge, armored, worm-like beings that burrow under the soil and have plagued many uninhabited worlds). There's klixen (big red crustacean/bug looking things) and pyjaks (alien monkey-like critters), some kind of metallic, eyeless crab that I don't think has a name and space cows, but that's about it. Re:Ben 10 I assume the various predators featured in the Nemetrix would fit. Just generally, I also think she would be interested in the many magical creatures fitting the description of monster (though some, like the gods, are tied to Earth and would die beyond a certain threshold).

Corrupted Gems only exist on Earth because they're the result of a malfunction; the Diamonds intended to kill every Gem on the planet in an instant, but to do so they required all 4 Diamonds. Without Pink, the blast instead corrupted their programming, most prominently displayed through their hard light projections. Definitely not a widely known thing (and definitely of interest to the Kree, who have attempted to replicate the feat to gain the upper hand in their war against Homeworld)

Do the heroes who get their superpowers from gear like Ben and Tony ever work out?

Ben definitely doesn't, but he's got one of those crazy efficient metabolisms that basically let him eat as much as he wants without ever gaining weight, and the Watch monitors and regulates his health anyways. He plays soccer at school sometimes, but he's not part of the team, so it's more for fun than anything else. I'd put him only just above couch potato levels of activity :P

Tony definitely does, particularly focusing on martial arts - at least the forms that don't clash too much with the suit's somewhat limited range of motion. He also does a lot of cardio, to improve his heart's health. Rhodey still follows the standard USAF regimen for fighter pilots, though the War Machine armor (and all Stark suits post-Mark V) have inertial dampening tech that heavily mitigates g-forces.

Julie was already athletic as hell before the Kree arm and Ship's additional enhancements. While she's abandoned the competitive side of it, for the most part, she still practices various sports, with a particular focus on swimming and tennis.

The Paladins obviously have their fairly rigorous training regimen, as shown in the show (though some of them follow it more rigorously than others...)
