Thank you for the tag, everyone! I am sorry it is very late, I have been preoccupied with family visits and a trip to SF~
Rules: State ten facts about yourself and tag ten of your favorites blogs.
1. I used to participate in a lot of things when I was younger. For example, I acted in theaters during the summer…I believe for 3 or 4 years (the hustle of being in stageplays was real). I was also in a swimming team for 7 years, and often joined art clubs as a summer activity when I was a kid. I also did a bit of street dancing, dabbled in martial arts (I tried kung fu club, took kickboxing class, and tried fencing for like a day lol), and wrote short stories/drew comics on the side.
Now I’m basically a couch potato and not doing a single, productive thing lmfao.
2. I was a huge bookworm. I always went to the library and would check out like 10 books or more. The librarians always knew me, because I always bring back the books on time, despite however many I checked out in one sitting. I would go home and happily pull out a book and read it in one day. Depending on the length, I could finish about 3-4 books a day. When I got into Harry Potter, I always had a flashlight with me for when it was lights out. Reading in the dark and in the car most likely caused my vision to fck up. I could probably still read books today just as fast and still enjoy them, but recently when I go to the library, I check out informative books for art.
3. Half of my bed is covered in plushies. I shitchu not. When my friends sleepover, they always complain about not having a spot bc of all my damn plushies hahaha. I love cute, huggable things.
4. My walls are also covered. Posters, photos, mementos, artwork (either mine or from other artists). I like that it feels like a gallery, and how everywhere I look, there would be something visual.
5. I went to Hawaii once to finally see my jpop idols perform. Been a fan of Arashi since late 2007, and they rarely do a concert outside of Japan (they had an Asian tour before, but this was the first time they had a concert in the west). So obv, me and a group of 10 friends were like fck yeah we gotta go. So glad we did, bc ticketing for their concerts in Japan has gotten even more ridiculous. It’s like winning the lottery and now with all their new rules, it makes it pretty impossible for a non-Japan resident/international fan to attend. /grumbles
6. There is always something wrong with me. Seriously. Even as a kid, I was always fuckin sick. Trips to specialists were frequent (asthma, skin disease, terrible vision, horrible teeth–they were rly horrid I wore headgears!! to school!! everyday!!, and a lot more). I’m actually nearly blind in my left eye, that I have to have my glasses and my right eye—which is also not perfect lol. I had to gt surgery for both eyes and even the doctors are shocked bc I’m too young to have these problems. I have a lot of memories being in the hospital and even a near-death experience in 2009.
7. I like collecting things. Back then, it was quarters–finding all the diff states, until one day I really needed money so I ended up using them lol. Now I collect art (and display them in my room), fortune cookie fortunes (idk I plan on doing sth with it later), and ofc….fandom merchandise.
8. Every technology I touch, dies. My luck with tech is literally the worst. Even my friend, who is very tech savvy and my go to geeksquad is always in disbelief at the techs I have ruined and at the softwares/programs that don’t work only for me lol. If I can count the many laptops and phones I went through, and the majority of my EHD’s that crashed and can no longer be fixed. I have 3 tablets, one dead one, and the current one is giving me issues. u.u
9. There were a lot of things I wanted to be aside from being an artist. In truth, before deciding on art as a career, I was pretty determined to be a writer. As stated before, I was quite the avid reader. Plus, paired with my imagination, I felt I was a force to be reckoned with. Howeverrrrr, after an attempt at writing a book failed, I gave up. Before being a writer I also wanted to be a film director. /shrugs Idk how that came to be lol. But well, I realized all of the things I wanted to be were all careers that were all about putting my own ideas into something more concrete. So yeah, I think being an artist is my true calling.
10. The only physical trait I like on me are my dimples and my lips. I hate everything else on me lmao. But I don’t go crying over it or anything, but I just really like my dimples and lips.
I saw a lot of you were already tagged on this, so if you haven’t done one, I tag you! :3
