&. safe haven - m & j

FORTUNATE ENOUGH SHE was one of the many whom gotten out of the campus on time to head to the safety zone. she couldn’t deny that the thought of someone running around with a gun on a shooting rampage had her a bit on edge. she couldn’t lie, and say she hadn’t seen worst things in her life too being this was probably one of the lesser -- but still dangerous moment in her life. 

jieun hated the fact that she couldn’t leave, and try to help people out. she felt her assistance was needed, and seeing a dangerous college student was on the loose she didn’t necessarily want to confront the other and risk herself getting shot, but she did want to help other people find a safe place to hide out until they’ve caught the girl.

upon her getting to the safety zone, and away from the school she took a sit next to someone she found familiar. she turned to look at the female, a stoic expression written upon her face as she studied the other for a brief moment. 

“ hey, are you okay? ” she asked the female next to her as she furrowed her brows slightly. though the other seemed to be less of worried, the were some tension leaving off the other towards jieun and it made jieun a bit uncomfortable to even be near the female, but not wanting to be rude she decided to lengthen her stay by the other.

“Mina! Mina where are you?!” The girl shouts, running through the dorm corridors, Nari was worried about the other and hadn’t hesitated to take her torch and start running throughout Keisung. Ever since the blackout the brainiac leader had waited in the dorms but she hadn’t appeared, gnawing at her lip, she shines the torch around the corridors and shouts even louder. “Has anyone seen Mina?!”

it wasn’t like jinwoo had the courage to talk to her – it just happened by simple, dumb luck. they had shared a class, jinwoo arriving late constantly and the only open seat being next to the inferior because of all the unimaginable gossip and nasty rumors. it was just a trainwreck waiting to happen.

but during the second week of classes had started, jinwoo found himself sitting there anyway despite everything he’s heard about inferiors. that day, her dress looked particularly pretty and she had paid special attention towards the professor, something jinwoo had not done that day. she didn’t look like an inferior. she just looked like – mina.

and so jinwoo had reached over and tapped her shoulder, corners of his lips tilting up into a shy smile.

“hey – did you happen to catch number five? i didn’t quite hear him,” he whispered to the other. “i’m jinwoo by the way.”

it’s become a tradition for the both of them. it’s always the day before the first soccer match of the upcoming season – when jinwoo is at his lowest and becomes an absolute wreck, honestly – that he always finds himself at her doorstep, seeking comfort and truthfulness from his best friend who’s never seen him play so it’s the closest thing to happiness he can get at a state like that. he buys take-out, maybe a few drinks if they’re ever up for it, and just talk about their hopes and dreams until the break of dawn because she calms him. she always does.
