I was taught what a run-on sentence was, and how to identify it. I don't remember what grade, but it was fairly early on I believe. I don't remember ever being told I wrote one, but I probably did. Curious as to why you're curious ^_^

THANK YOUUU OK idk what made me think of it Im doing work for writing class though but Anyway. I feel like me + my peers dont know what a run-on is but it was drilled into us that run-ons are Bad, just not explained why theyre bad. Not explained well I mean. Bc sooo many times teachers will ask whats wrong with a sentence and people guess that its a run-on when its not.

And for my writing class we're talking about what grammatical terms are useful for students and which are unnecessary/unhelpful and I think "run-on sentence" isnt helpful and its actually confusing students, but thats why I want other ppls input bc idk others experience with it
