Kunhe is home from school and is working on homework just outside. Davos receives a text from an unknown number. The message simply reads, "heyyy" (Yes, mun, this is connected to Kunhe in some way.)
Davos cocks an eyebrow sternly at the message.
Long fingers deftly, swiftly type a speedy reply:
Identify yourself.
He sends it, and stares murderously at the screen.
Kunhe is in a rush in the morning as she gets ready for school. Even so, she manages to catch her father for a moment. "Happy birthday, Baba," she says, hugging him quickly and kissing him on the cheek. "We're having vegetable momos together this evening, right?"
Davos pulls his daughter into the embrace, only reluctantly releasing her; yet her punctuality is a shared virtue and he understands her haste.
"I would have it no other way," he quietly assures her. "I love you."
