the thing about the whole ace discourse thing is that there are gross things said by both sides, but at the end of the day, I think it's irrelevant to whether or not a group belongs in the lgbt community. I don't think shitty intracommunity garbage by certain members is a good reason to be exclusive and shut out an entire group of people for that reason.
true, and i tend to stay out of discourse like that for precisely that reason
i also tend to see a lot of people um... just automatically assuming every ace person who stands for their inclusion in the lgbt community is cishet? a lot of people are ace as well as lgpq and many identify more strongly w/ their ace side, maybe, and all this arguing just creates more inner conflict
i mean i dont really know much about this, nor do i give that much of a shit about my sexual orientation but... i see this stuff a lot when i come across ace discourse and even with my indifference i still feel a twinge of unpleasantness every time
