Leon hopped on his board, then took Kiyondo’s hand so they could skate together. Kiyondo grinned at him, and gave his hand a squeeze.
“I’m glad I didn’t ruin our date.”
Leon jerked them around gently.
“You can’t ruin anything, man. You’re great.”
“Awww, thanks. You are so sweet.”
They skated together for a while. It was starting to get a little boring, so they started trying to knock each other over while staying up themselves. Leon would jerk Kiyondo towards him, and Kiyondo would carry through and try to push him over, then Leon would push back and Kiyondo would stumble and pull Leon with them, and the game would continue like that. They both ended up falling, but neither got hurt.
“You ok?”
“Yeah, ‘m fine Kiyo.”
They helped Leon up, and they continued to the ice cream store. Leon held the door open for Kiyondo, and they thanked him and bowed.
“What kind are you going to get?”
“Mmmm....bubblegum!”
“Sweet. I think I’ll get....Mint.”
“Mint? Why mint?”
“Because it’s good?”
“Weirdo.”
“No, you’re the weirdo!”
They both started laughing, and got their ice cream.
