Virtual Kentucky Derby

Ever since I was commissioned, I have been hoping to join my fellow Kentucky Colonels at a running of the Kentucky Derby.

Coronavirus put paid to everyone's plans this year, but Churchill Downs held a virtual race between the most celebrated horses across the history of the American Triple Crown.

People will be cheerfully arguing about the outcome until at least the 2021 race.

Today is the best Derby Day ever!  🌟

First, all 13 horses to ever win the Triple Crown will face off in the (computer simulated) Triple Crown Showdown at 5:45pm ET/2:45pm PT!  We have to agree with the morning line odds that this race will be Secretariat’s to lose!  👑🐎

Then, the Kentucky Turtle Derby returns for the first time since 1945!!  Eight elite shells will show off their speed at 7pm ET/4pm PT on Old Forester’s YouTube channel!  Seattle Slow and American Tortuga have impressive GRUMPs, but Galapa-GO! and Rocket to Nowhere are ready to go.  And then there’s Steve... 🙃

Mom is betting on Galapa-GO! but I’m putting my GRUMPs on fellow small tort Rocket to Nowhere!  🐢💨
