ok i was going to comment this but ao3 isnt working for me right now but in okay cupid chapter 12, i just want you to know that its so important to me when kyoya notices him and recounts his rolodex of kaoru, he doesnt even mention hikaru. he just says kaoru has an older twin and a younger sister. when kaorus entire life is defined by his existence to hikaru, kyoya doesnt even mention it. i almost cried

Meanwhile Hikaru's slot in the rolodex is like "Kaoru's twin. Annoying. Bad music taste. Annoying." (I'm kidding)

i think the reason kaoru falls for kyoya is because he just can't figure out wtf kyoya's deal is and ofc that's fascinating to him. this observation would prob turn into attraction because kyoya, behind the facade, is awesome as shit. wouldn't it be cool if kaoru fell for kyoya while he was pining after tamaki, & kaoru knew it... i don't think the timeline works out but it would be soooo awesome i want him to be oscillating between pissed off and devastated over being in a love triangle
