also my friend (who has been practicing tkd for years) invited me to an open class held by the doja he’s a student at a few days ago

also this got long im sorry i cant say this on insta bc my toxic friends are on my close friends list and i dont wanna start drama so im not going to remove them :”)

BUT HE DIDNT TELL ME IT WAS MAINLY A BLACK BELTS/PEOPLE AIMING FOR THE BLACK BELTS GRADING CLASS so my clown ass was just. standing there in my green belt, unable to do a 360 kick under stress. bUT IT GETS WORSE bc it was a sparring class and everyone there was aT LEAST A RED BELT so i kinda just quaked

but sIKE idk what happened i think i was possessed by a shounen spirit because i smh won four out of the six sparring matches,, tURNING KICK SUPREMACY YALL it’s literally my default,, i vaguely rmb continuously doing turning kicks (and it kinda worked?? idk my school’s coach says i change kicks really fast,, and i think that’s probably residue from my wushu days HAHA since my wushu jiaolian was really spartan and wushu is big on speedy and clean moves) until my opponent came tHIS CLOSE TO KICKING ME IN THE FACE and i felt threatened and somehow pulled off my first 360 during a sparring match <3

and my friend sent me the videos they took that day (WHICH I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT WHAT) and !!!!!!! my kicks look so clean hhh and im still v shook because i only started learning taekwondo this year since that’s my club activity in school + club activities were online for around 4 or 5 months due to covid19 and i didn’t attend 90% of them because they clashed with my japanese lessons :(( kinda proud of myself ngl,, i do miss wushu tho :”)
