Rafael Silva is taking over breaking barriers in today’s mainstream media and showing his pride and L’ATTITUDE! 🙌🏽👏🏽

Rafael Silva, a young Brazilian-American actor, stars in the hit show 9-1-1: Lone Star and is making waves representing the Latino community! Born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, he immigrated with his family to the United States when he was 13 years old.

During L’ATTITUDE 2021, Rafael discussed being Latino in the U.S. and breaking down barriers in the industry through his character on Lone Star who is gay and Latino. “I appreciate it a lot that people reach out and voice their gratitude because I feel equally grateful for the fact that these communities feel seen without me trying to have them seen. I’m not representing a gay cop. That’s my point of view as an actor, right? I’m not representing a gay Texan cop or a gay Latinx whatever, I’m just representing a person. He happens to be all of these things, beautiful things. I think that’s why many people are able to identify with Carlos, or anyone in the cast really, because these are beautiful people that also happen to be many other things – as we all are in life, right? We’re not just one thing.”

RAFAEL SILVA MAKES THE 2021 L’ATTITUDE LATINXT LIST HONORING LATINX “TALENT ON THE RISE” 

Rafael will be attending a showcase for the honorees next week at the 2021 event in San Diego, California.

L’ATTITUDE returns to San Diego this month for a sensational in-person experience that will bring some of Hollywood’s most talented Latinx actors, writers, and filmmakers to the event stage. The four-day event will be taking place at the Manchester Grand Hyatt and will kick off on Wednesday, September 29th, and run through Saturday, October 2nd. L'ATTITUDE’s entertainment lineup includes intimate conversations with cast and crew from HBO Max’s The Garcia’s, Amazon Studios’ Welcome to The Blumhouse films Bingo Hell and Madres, and this year’s LATINXT list honorees.

Initially launched in 2018 with actor and entrepreneur Zoe Saldaña and filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, the 2021 LATINXT list includes television and film talent who are redefining what it means to be Latinx in the United States.

Co-founder of L’ATTITUDE, Sol Trujillo, recognizes the efforts and achievements that this year’s LATINXT list honorees have made and is looking forward to celebrating them at this year’s event. "The data shows that Latinos are driving growth and profit in the entertainment industry more than any other demographic. Every year, we look forward to presenting the LATINXT and provide them with a platform that will bring them more exposure in the industry. I have seen many of our past honorees like Camila Mendes, Isabela Merced, and Leslie Grace go on and make big waves following their appearances on the L’ATTITUDE stage, and I look forward to watching this year’s honorees’ careers continue to flourish."

Rafael’s showcase is scheduled for Thursday, September 30th from 2:00-2:20 PM PST.
