Scene Two;
Sam: Always an early riser, Sam had gotten up at six and had taken his morning run, a shower, had his coffee and breakfast, all by eight. That gave him plenty of time to get dressed and walk to the law firm by ten. Or so he thought. As luck would have it a huge traffic accident happened about a block from the law firm. Needless to say, Sam arrived fifteen minutes late rather than fifteen minutes early like he'd planned. Gabriel happened to not be in the office when Sam finally arrives. Just maybe he wouldn't find out about him being late.
Gabriel: Gabriel walked from Micheal's office with a grin, laughing slightly as he moved towards his office, checking on his phone where Sam was since he knew he hadn't arrived at ten. To his surprise, his little intern was in the building and in the office as he walked in. "So, running a bit late?" he asked Sam as he tucked his cell into his pocket.
Sam: Well crap! So much for Gabriel not finding out. He had just been setting his backpack under his desk when Gabriel's words startle him. "Yeah, look, about that...there was this major traffic accident about a block from here. I swear I am rarely ever late and I usually try to call if I know that I am going to be but I didn't even have your number..." Sam explains in one huge rush, worried and unsure of how Gabriel was going to react to him being late.
Gabriel: Gabriel just snorted and shook his head, making his way to his chair to sit down slowly. "You worry too much. I'm just yanking your chain. Late isn't an issue. Not showing up is an issue. Let me have your phone." he held his hand out.
Sam: Having not sat down yet, Sam pulls his phone from his pants pocket while walking over to Gabriel then plops it into the older man's outstretched hand. "I have my reasons for worrying too much."
Gabriel: "I can only imagine." he chuckled as he took the phone, inputting his own number into Sam's phone book. "If you'll be late, text or call me. I'm available at all times."
Sam: "All times?" Sam stared at Gabriel, brows arched in amusement. "Do you like never sleep or something?" He snorts as he snags his phone back and walks back to his desk to flop into his seat.
Gabriel: "Rarely. I stay up most of the night to watch movies with my dog. He get's scared when I sleep." he smiles, thinking of his terrier he has to leave alone at home during the day now that he had a job.
Sam: Sam nods his head once in lieu of a reply. "So, what do you need me to start on this morning?" If Gabriel was telling the truth then Sam would be doing much more than getting him coffee and his lunch today. He was eager to start actually doing some actual work.
Gabriel: "Well, you could make some calls to clients. Let them know I'll be representing them on their cases. I also need appointments set up for them each to come in so I can review their files with them and have them sign some release forms." he leaned back in his chair and pulled his phone out, texting his brother a big thank you for setting him up with such a nice little helper.
Sam: "Alright. Can I get those files from yesterday then, please? I can take what information I need from them and give them back when I am done." Sam already had a plan forming in his head on how to stay organized. Sure he'd do things the way he was supposed to but there were a few other things he wanted to do that he knew would help him be better organized.
Gabriel: "Not a problem." he held the stack of files out for Sam, the divorce right on top. "I want to see the Shirley’s in my office no later than next Friday. Their case seems to be pretty juicy and I love me some drama."
Sam: Sam snorts as he takes the files from Gabriel. "I'll see what I can do." He instantly opens the top file and scans for the phone number to which he can call. Mr. Shirley luckily answers and an appointment is made for the following Monday at 3 in the afternoon. He tells Gabriel the information then proceeds to call everyone else.
Gabriel: "Oh good." Gabriel smiles and runs a hand through his hair before picking his cell phone up. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to call Reeses." he proceeded to call his dog's pet caller he had installed, making little baby noises at him while he pressed to feed him a treat.
Sam: Reeses? Okay then. Gabriel was one strange fellow. Sam quickly went back to his task at hand though. By the time Gabriel got off his phone Sam will have set up appointments with most of the clients, only having to leave a message for a couple of them.
Gabriel: Gabriel waved at his dog and blew him a kiss before turning off the camera and putting his cell phone in his pocket then looking to Sam. "Appointments all set?" he asked, standing up and moving over to Sam's desk, smiling at him.
Sam: "For the most part they are. Just waiting on a couple people to call me back is all." Sam glanced up at Gabriel briefly before looking back at his computer. He wanted to log in all the appointment information into the computer system, get it out of the way. At some point Sam wanted to get one of those big desktop calendars to also help keep track of appointments and any other important meetings.
Gabriel: "So, what are you doing for lunch today, pup?" he asked, not wanting to lose the conversation. He had to appeal to the kid, not bore him to death with awkward silence and video calls to his dog.
Sam: "I brought my lunch, was going to just eat it here..." Sam planned to eat at his desk and get more work done, something he was used to doing growing up.
Gabriel: "Oh..." he frowned a little, the tone of his voice dropping a bit as he felt disappointment rush through his belly. He was actually looking forward to spending lunch with Sam at a diner today. "That's fine too." he nodded, faking a smile as he walked towards the door to fetch himself a coffee and maybe a snickers bar.
Sam: Sam watches Gabriel leave but then quickly gets back to work, not thinking too much about the man's reaction. It's not like he had any money to go out to lunch frequently. He refused to reduce himself to his family's ways of making money and felt bad enough he wasn't able to help Jessica pay for food or rent. Between interning here at the firm and going to college there wasn't much time to have an actual paying job. Thankfully he had earned a full ride to Stanford.
Gabriel: Gabriel went outside and straight to the gazebo for the firm, looking around for little bugs he could use to sabotage Sam's lunch. Once he had a decent amount, he stuffed the jar with the crawlers into his jacket and headed back in, going right to his office. "Sam, be a good pup and fetch me a pack of skittles from the vending machine in the waiting area on the second floor." he asked, trying to be as secretive as he could be.
Sam: "You have the money for that? Because I sure don't." Sam stops what he's doing and looks at Gabriel expectantly. He couldn't believe the man, that he was actually asking him to basically be his slave. Not like he could do anything about it though, having asked to intern for someone else once already. There was no way Sam was going to ask Micheal for anything so soon. He'd just have to deal with it.
Gabriel: "Oh yeah. Here's three bucks, get yourself a soda too, pup." he smirks, wiggling in his seat to finagle his wallet out, holding three bills to Sam. "And stop in to Ana's office and ask if she has a spare stapler, please."
Sam: Standing up, Sam walks over to Gabriel's desk and takes the offered money then shoves it in his pocket. "Anything else?" Come Hell or high water Sam was going to make sure he would have as minimal trips for anything as possible.
Gabriel: "Nope. That's all, kiddo." he smirks again, feeling the jar of creepy crawlers sliding a bit. Sam needed to go before the jar fell. "Now hurry along. Tummy wants skittles." he shoo'd him along with a wave of his hand.
Sam: The second floor, seriously?!?! And for a bag of Skittles no less. Sam took the elevator all the way down to the second floor, grabbing two bags since they were $1.50 each and skipping the soda for himself. He could live without the sugary caffeine. Water was always a cheap and healthy drink anyway.
Gabriel: Gabriel was quick to rush over to Sam's desk, rummaging through his back pack under his desk to find his lunch, cutting himself on a blade and pouting before healing himself and pulling the bagged lunch out. "This is gonna be good." he muttered to himself as he poured the critters into the lunch, making sure they got into every little thing. When the jar was empty he closed it and made it disappear from his hand, putting everything back in order and hurrying back to his desk, not realizing he plipped some blood on Sam's paper lunch bag before putting it away.
Sam: About fifteen minutes later, after making a detour at Ana's, Sam strolls back into the office. He unceremoniously sets the two bags of Skittles and a stapler on Gabriel's desk. "Here. Enjoy." To say Sam was annoyed was an understatement. If he didn't know any better it would seem not much had changed in the way of Sam doing stupid slave shit. Granted Gabriel treated him a bit better than Zachariah ever did but still. Sam plops into his chair and pulls his backpack out from under his desk, digging for his lunch. As soon as he pulls his peanut butter and banana sandwich out he notices a bunch of little black ants crawling all over it. "Dammit!" Further digging around his lunch bag showed more ants and a spider in his salad. Just his luck it seemed.
Gabriel: "Thank you, pup." he grins, picking up one of the bags of skittles and opening it, pouring some into his mouth right from the bag. He watched the young man as he went through his lunch, finding the insects in everything and chuckled to himself before asking "Everything okay? You seem upset."
Sam: "There's ants all over my food!" Huffed an exasperated Sam. He had no other options for lunch and even though he'd gone without food a few times growing up, didn't mean he was okay with it now. Besides, he'd planned to make sure he would have a meal every day.
Gabriel: Gabriel frowned, smiling his wicked little ass off in his head as he stood up and moved to Sam's side, patting his shoulder. "You could always hit a diner downtown with me. My treat. I know how frustrating it is to have your lunch taken from you unexpectedly."
Sam: "I guess." Sam sighs, pouting. "I was going to get more work done while I ate though."
Gabriel: "Don't look so sad about spending time with the best boss ever." he teased with a tiny smirk, hoping to ignite a spark or cheer him up. He didn't think Sam would develop a debilitating depression over bugs. Kid was too sensitive.
Sam: When did you want to head out?" Sam wasn't going to be stupid and turn down a free meal.
Gabriel: "Well, if you could be a doll and run a few forms to Micheal first, we can go as soon as you come back." he smiled, glad that Sam accepted his offer. He wasn't sure why but he felt like Sam was starting to regret asking for a new boss.
Sam: "Alright." Sam gets the forms from Gabriel and quickly heads over to Micheal's office, the sooner he got it over with the better. For some reason the CEO intimidated him. Which made no sense with the way he was brought up.
Gabriel: Gabriel grabbed his keys and headed out of the office, waiting for Sam at the elevator bay. He wondered if he'd be able to get the kid to open up about his family life from before he was accepted into college.
Sam: Sam can see Gabriel near the elevators as he's walking out of Micheal's office and meets the man there. "So, where exactly did you have in mind?"
Gabriel: "I know a little place that has great pasta. Excellent steak too if you're a carnivore." he chuckles, moving onto the first elevator that opened and pressing to go to the first floor. "Or are you more into rabbit food?"
Sam: "As long as I can avoid super greasy foods I will be okay." He says, following Gabriel into the elevator. Just as the elevator starts going down he remembers that he'd forgotten to throw out his ant covered lunch. Oh well, he'd just have to do it after they got back from lunch.
Gabriel: "Sounds good to me." he smiles, leaning on the elevator wall, listening to each ding. Floor four. Floor three. Floor two. Ding ding. Floor one. The door opens and he steps out, heading towards the door. "Would you rather walk or drive? I'm okay with either."
Sam: "Why don't we walk..? Traffic can be a pain at this hour." Sam suggests as he follows after Gabriel from the elevator to the door. Ever the gentleman that he is, Sam holds the door for Gabriel after exiting the building.
Gabriel: Gabriel nods, smiling at the nice gesture. "Thank you, pup." he chimed as he walked through the door, shoving his hands into his pockets. "So how long have you lived in Palo Alto?"
Sam: "I've been here for 9 years. What about you, how long have you lived here?" Sam rolls the sleeves of his white dress shirt up, the temperature already too warm for his liking.
Gabriel: "Oh I've been here forever." he chuckled a little, not actually lying but not telling the whole truth either. The time would come when he would tell Sam what he needed to know but it wasn't going to be anytime soon and most certainly not today.
Sam: "So, how do you know Micheal?" That was one thing that kept nagging at Sam, the fact Gabriel seemed to know much of the people at the firm. "
Gabriel: "He's one of my brothers." he spatted out, not thinking twice about the consequences or how Micheal may reprimand him for letting Sam know of their relation. "Do you have any siblings? Or were you one of the lucky only children?"
Sam: Sam nods. "I have a brother. He's 4 years older than me." Sam learned the hard way to tell as little of himself as possible. Hell, Jessica didn't know much more about his family and past than Gabriel did so far and he'd been dating her for about 4 years, known her pretty much the whole time he's lived in Palo Alto.
Gabriel: "What kind of work is he into?" he asked, curiosity flooding his mind now. He had no idea this kid had a brother. He really should have learned more about Sam before just jumping into the saddle and riding the chariot out of heaven. He was just glad to get out of that noise infested cloud in the sky.
Sam: "He's in pest control with our dad...." It wasn't exactly the truth but it also wasn't really a lie either. What his brother and father got rid of may not be bugs per say but they definitely were pests.
Gabriel: Gabriel nodded, not entirely trusting that Sam was telling him the truth. He'd learn more about the kid one way or another. Even if he had to take a trip back to that dreadful hole in the sky.
Sam: They walked in somewhat of an awkward silence. At some point Sam glances over to Gabriel, wondering if the man was going to speak again when a light pole so rudely smacked him in the face.
Gabriel: Gabriel sighed as they walked in silence, hearing a loud thud when Sam met the metal of a light pole which made him turn to the kid and snort loudly before inquiring about any injuries. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
Sam: "Yea, I'll be fine...I think." Sam groaned, hissing slightly when he gently held a hand to the spot on his cheek bone that gotten the brunt of the hit. Sam has had much worse injuries but damn would his cheek be sore for a few days.
Gabriel: Gabriel chuckled again and shook his head in mock disappoint. "What shall I do with such a clumsy pup?" he chimed playfully as he patted Sam on the shoulder.
Sam: "I'm usually not this clumsy." Sam remarks, taking his hand from his cheek and checking to see if there was any blood.
Gabriel: "Of course not, pup." Gabriel teased, pointing at a tiny diner. "Here we are. I think you'll enjoy the atmosphere. Very calm and down to earth."
Sam: Sam glanced at the diner, catching the name of the place being Panera. "I've never been here before. Is it any good?"
Gabriel: "It's delicious. They have extremely fresh garden salads and wonderful flat breads." Gabriel chirped as if he were giving a sales pitch and trying to sell the place. "Take a seat over by that window and I'll grab us a couple of menus. What do you want to drink?"
Sam: "Just water is fine. Thanks." Sam made his way towards the window Gabriel had indicated and nabbed a seat at the booth there. He was a little eager to to see the menu, the mention of fresh salads making his mouth water.
Gabriel: Gabriel smiled and wandered to the bar-styled counter and asked for two menus, a water and a sweetened tea. Once the woman complied, he headed to Sam and placed the drinks down then held out one of the menus for him. "They have a variety of salads. Six or seven I think. I'll likely order one of the Philly flat breads with a soup." he sat down and opened his menu, glancing at his options. The salads did look quite good actually.
Sam: Sam graciously took the offered menu and upon opening it, noticed the wide array of salads. He was in heaven. Every single salad looked amazingly delicious, so hard to decide. "What would you recommend?" Sam was pretty certain he'd get a salad but he was sort of curious as to what Gabriel would say.
Gabriel: "Honestly, I'd go with the teriyaki shrimp salad with french bread on the side. The bread here, any of it, is delicious." he smiled, still looking down at his own menu as he speaks.
Sam: Sam nodded as he sipped from his water. "I'm thinking of having the Spicy Thai Salad with Chicken..." If the food here was as good as Gabriel said than Sam may very well start calling this place his favorite place to go to.
Gabriel: "That's actually a very good sal--" he started, interrupted when the waitress stepped up to their table asking for their orders. "Well, I'll have today's special combo with the small house salad, a Philly flat bread and a dumpling soup, hold the celery." he smiled, closing and handing the menu to the woman before looking to Sam for him to order. He would have spoken for the pup but that might have been a bit awkward for him since this is their first time eating together.
Sam: With a kind smile, Sam tell the waitress “Hi, I'll have the Spicy Thai Salad with Chicken and some of your French Onion soup. Please." He then hands his menu to the waitress and thanks her.
Gabriel: The waitress smiles, tells them it'll be out shortly then wanders back into the kitchen area. "So... Sam. You told me a little about what your brother does but what about the rest of your family? Your mom and dad, I mean. Where are they?"
Sam: "My dad is in pest control with my brother. They kind of have their own traveling business.....and my mom is dead." Sam answers matter-of-factly, head down and tearing apart the paper napkin holder that had been around his napkin and silverware. He had told basically the same story to everyone he met ever since moving to Palo Alto, making Sam used to telling it. Didn't mean it was always easy. It usually tended to bring back bad memories, especially about his brother and father.
Gabriel: "Oh... I'm so sorry to hear that. I had no idea about your mother." Gabriel frowned, now feeling terrible about even asking about the kid's parents.
Sam: "It's okay. I was really young when she died so I didn't really know her." He tried to reassure Gabriel. Sam doesn't have any memories of his mother so it's kind of hard to even miss her. Granted, it sucked at times not knowing her like his brother or father did and often times he wished he'd had a mother growing up, but such was life and he had learned to deal.
Gabriel: Gabriel leaned back in his seat and let out a sigh before tilting his head. "So who do you live with here? Are you just on your own or do you live with room mates?" he inquired, genuine curiosity jolting through him.
Sam: "I live with my girlfriend. What about you? Are married or dating anyone?" Sam quickly changed the topic, not wanting to talk about himself any longer. Sam feared the more questions Gabriel asked, the harder it would become to keep from accidentally spilling more than he'd like to.
Gabriel: Gabriel suddenly went silent, looking down at his lap and finding his voice low and a little broken when he spoke. "I uh... I don't want to talk about that." he swallowed what felt like a boulder as he thought of the one person he ever loved but was taken from him and murdered right in front of his eyes. It was not a happy memory.
Sam: "I'm sorry..." Sam felt bad for even asking. He hated when people were upset. He took a sip from his water then asked, "So I know you just started at the law firm. What else you worked as?"
Gabriel: "Well... I uh... I worked as sort of a social worker of sorts. I like helping people." he smiled, feeling the heaviness lift as the subject changed direction.
Sam: Sam nodded and just as he was about to say something else their food arrived. His mouth watered at the sight of his salad. It looked delicious. Even tasted as such when he took his first bite.
Gabriel: "Thank you." Gabriel told the waitress before she took off again. "This looks great." he chirped, picking up his silverware and pulling out the fork to start with his salad.
Sam: "How did you find this place? In all the years I have lived here I didn't know about until today." Sam admitted before tasting a spoonful of his soup.
Gabriel: "I used to come here with a friend of mine. He was a big fan of salads like you are." he told the pup as he shoveled some of the rabbit food into his mouth.
Sam: Sam nodded, taking another bite of his salad and all but moaned at the taste.
Gabriel: Gabriel chuckled a bit at the obscene noise Sam's throat made but continued eating on his own. When they finished their meal, the waitress came by to drop their check off and told them to have a nice day. "I'll go pay after I finish my drink." Gabriel chirped before he heard the door open, two men in hoodies coming into the diner and locking the door. "Do you recognize them, Sam?" he asked, beginning to feel nervous.
Sam: Sam craned his neck to see who Gabriel was referring to, not recognizing them at all but getting a bad feeling right off the bat. "No. I do not. Why?" Sam's hunter instincts automatically began heightening a few notches, brain already thinking of a multitude of scenarios about how things could go down.
Gabriel: "Because I don't think they're here for the food." he made a half joke, scooting from the booth and standing up. "I think we should get out of here, Sam. Something isn't right. I'll go pay..." he slowly began walking towards the bar-like counter, keeping his eyes on the two men.
Sam: Luckily old habits died hard and Sam had already taken stock of the diner when he walked inside, learning quickly where any exits were and any other important details. He agreed wholeheartedly with Gabriel. Something didn't feel right about the two men. Sam slowly slid from his seat and met Gabriel at the counter, sneakily snagging a serrated knife from a table as he did so.
Gabriel: Gabriel pulled his card out from his wallet to hand over to the hostess, his eyes still on the two men before turning to Sam. "Sam, I need you to go to the bathroom. I'll be in there in a minute." he told the pup in an urgent tone. These guys were vampires. He could sense it. This was not going to end well.
Sam: "Not going to happen. I can handle myself and l sure as Hell ain't leaving you alone." Sam whispered, not wanting the two guys to hear what they were talking about. He had no idea yet what these guys were but he knew he'd soon find out.
Gabriel: "Sam... pl--" he began, feeling more nervous with Sam not listening to him. At the same time, the two men pulling their hoods down and smiling a sharp smile at one another began shouting for everyone to stay where they are, they'd each have a turn to die. This was really not going to be good at all. The people in the diner panicked, a few running for the door.
Sam: Sam watched as a guy who was trying to reach the door to escape was violently grabbed by one of the two men and got his neck snapped for his troubles. That caused everyone to freeze and be quite, too scared not to. It was unfortunate the man got his neck snapped but lucky for Sam, now he knew for sure these men were of the supernatural variety. Only question remaining was what exactly they were and how to kill them.
Gabriel: "Sam..." Gabriel whispered, swallowing what felt like a boulder in his throat. "I am begging you to go to the bathroom. I can take care of this." he pushed on the pup's chest a bit, his eyes pleading as the men seemed to be picking and choosing from the other customers on who to eat first.
Sam: Sam just looked at Gabriel. He heard what the man was saying but there was no chance in Hell he was leaving. Especially when he had the ability to save all these people. Without even replying to Gabriel, Sam turned to face the bad guys, who were currently in the middle of harassing a young woman, and shouted, "Hey! Why don't you leave her alone, huh?" That got the leader of the duo's attention. He roughly shoved the woman towards his partner in crime and stormed over to Sam, grabbing the young intern by the lapels of his dress shirt and getting all up in Sam's face. "What're you going to do about it if we don't, human?" The leader taunted, giving Sam a perfect view of his vampire teeth.
Gabriel: Gabriel felt his jaw tighten, forcing himself to wait to use his powers until he absolutely had to. Which was looking more likely by the second if Sam kept this up. "You seem like a nice... guy. Why don't we sit down for a coffee. On me." he suggested, trying to charm the vampire a bit.
Sam: Sam had never dealt with vampires before, always hearing how they were pretty much extinct. He had researched on how to kill them though on the off chance he or his family ever ran into one. Thinking back on what he knew, Sam realized that the knife he'd grabbed wouldn't be enough to cut off their heads like what needed to be done. It however would come in handy to stun the lead vampire enough to let him go. "You can either let all these people go and walk away from this intact...or not and lose your heads.." Was Sam's ultimatum as he waited for just the right moment to use the knife.
Gabriel: Gabriel felt both worry and annoyance rush through him, his mind running through all possible outcomes and he panics, his hand raising to shove the vampire away to free Sam from the grip. "Leave him out of it, blood sucker." he growled, feeling oddly territorial.
Sam: Sam was in utter shock, seeing the lead Vampire go flying into one of the lights on the wall at Gabriel's hand. The impact from his body shattered the glass of the sconce light fixture. He briefly gazed at Gabriel with wide eyes. He had plenty of questions for the older man but now wasn't the time for 20 questions. Sam filed them away for later and instead went after the lead vampire. A head needed to be decapitated and now was Sam's chance to do so.
Gabriel: Gabriel swallowed hard when he got a glance of Sam's reaction. He knew he was going to have to explain himself later but he wasn't going to let these assholes get away with murder. Literally. He turned to the other vampire and pointed a finger at him to do a swift slicing motion in the air with it, causing the vampires head to flop right off and onto the ground in front of him. From what it looked like, Sam knew what he was doing too.
Sam: Sam scuffled with the lead vampire a bit, losing the knife in the process. Not like it would have been of much help now anyway. He was currently on his back with said vampire on top of him. Just when he was about to be bitten, Sam blindly reached for a large piece of the broken light fixture and managed to flip them, making him now on top. Sam straddled the vampire and ignored how the sharp edge of the glass cut into his hands as he basically sawed the vamp's head off, spraying Sam in blood.
Gabriel: Gabriel did a one-eighty turn to face Sam, finding the pup chopping off the other vampire's head. Which was quite a shock to him that Sam knew how to kill a vampire. "Sam..." Gabriel said hoarsely, moving slowly toward the younger man. If he wasn't mistaken, Sam was a hunter. And hunters didn't exactly tend to favor keeping angels alive. Not in his experience anyways.
Sam: Sam sits back on his haunches, glass still in his hands and chest heaving as he stared down at the now decapitated vampire. He had left this type of life behind for a reason. After all these years free of it, and with no visible trace of anything supernatural around, Sam had thought for sure he was finally able to live a normal life. That was obviously not the case. He was too caught up in his thoughts to notice or hear Gabriel.
Gabriel: Gabriel felt his jaw tighten and his stomach turn, something he hadn't felt since he watched his love taken from him. He needed to get out of this building. He needed air. He hurried past Sam, swiftly unlocking the door and whisking through it before beginning to hyperventilate. What would Sam do to him when he found out he was an angel... Would he have it in him to fight Sam off? Too many worries and thoughts were rushing through his mind and he couldn't breathe, couldn't focus thus causing him to collapse to his knees, falling forward so his palms held him up on the ground.
Sam: Sam eventually got up, throwing the piece of glass down at the dead body. He expected to see Gabriel when he turned around but when he didn't see the older man anywhere in the diner, Sam rushed out the door. "...Gabriel...?" Sam cautiously asked, moving slowly towards him so as not to startle the angel in disguise.
Gabriel: "I... You... I c-can't..." he heaved out, unable to catch his breath as he became more overwhelmed by just hearing the hunter's voice. His vision began turning white around the edges before he just fell forward and hit the ground face first. What was going to come of this?
Sam: Sam quickly went to Gabriel's aid, kneeling beside the man and helping him get back to sitting on his knees. "Hey, it's okay. It's over with....you're going to be okay...." He tried to reassure.
Gabriel: Gabriel shook his head and tried to push Sam away weakly, not succeeding at all. "I c-can't. You... your people don't... p-please..." he felt as though he were begging for his life.
Sam: Brows furrowed in confusion, Sam states, "My people? I don't....what do you mean my people?" He had been having strange things happen to him and Sam thought just maybe Gabriel was like him.
Gabriel: "Hunters. Your p-people... they don't like things like me. Th-they hunt me. You... you will too..." he had his eyes shut tight, waiting for the angel blade to pierce him.
Sam: "How...how do you know that? I haven't told anyone...." Sam had no idea what exactly Gabriel was getting on about, what kind of supernatural being he really was. That was beside the point though. He needed to know how and why Gabriel knew about him being a hunter. For all Sam knew his family was in danger.
Gabriel: "You knew about the vampire. How to kill it. You knew." he stammered, his body freezing as he leaned back on his legs, staring at Sam.
Sam: "Yea, from a lot of research. That was my first time ever seeing a vampire, let alone killing one. Last I knew they were extinct." Sam stood, watching Gabriel closely. "What about you, what are you?....Were you sent to keep tabs on me or something?"
Gabriel: Gabriel swallowed, looking down at the ground and keeping his mouth shut. He can't tell the pup what he was, couldn't expose himself to someone who might potentially kill him and his brothers. He was beginning to panic again and he didn't know what to do.
Sam: Sam had been about to pressure Gabriel to start talking when he saw the man begin to panic again, "Hey! Hey...easy. Stay with me.." He knelt back down and placed his hands on his shoulders, trying to calm Gabriel down.
Gabriel: Gabriel shook his head rapidly, trying yet again to push the young hunter away from him only to fall into him, his body going lax as he lost all forms of consciousness.
Sam: Sam caught Gabriel as he fell into him. He held onto the man as he waved down a taxi, playing it off as if the passed out man had been drunk. Luckily the driver didn't seem to care one way or the other, even turning a blind eye to the blood covering Sam as he manages to get Gabriel situated in the backseat of the cab. Soon as the driver pulls up in front of Sam's apartment building, Sam dug for Gabriel's wallet, fishing out the desired amount and handing it to the driver. He then carefully got Gabriel from the taxi to his apartment, having to go up a few flights of stairs. Upon entering the apartment, Sam gently deposited the older man on the couch then went to wash up.
