Cookie Con Day #2!!
Yesterday was the final day of the convention and I am pooped. We made our way through the rest of the booths that we missed on Saturday. I stopped in at The Cake Mamas booth and actually was able to talk with Janelle 😬 I have been taking her business mini-courses and am a part of her Facebook Cake group so I was a little star struck to actually get to speak with her. What a, down to earth, nice woman. Eek!
Street tacos from some hole in the wall place, cuz that's where they are the best and a couple of take home treats from the convention.
I sat in on a bunch of workshops and demos as well. In the first gif the artist is making edible lace to place on a cake. I've made lace. But NOT like this. This product will be so so much easier to work with!! The second gif is Christina Navarro working on paneling a cake with fondant. She was, by far, my favorite artist of the show. Super down to earth. Started working at home. Makes her own tools and has a ton of inexpensive tips and ideas. Watching her work was amazing!!
Seriously, these are my people. I've always been creative and artistic. Artists are always a little quirky and strange and wonderful. I fit in here. Going to the show has been even more eye opening. I can do this. I really can do this. ❤
Day #1 of Cookie Con is finished!! I am having so much fun. I attended a few workshops on sugar flowers and pricing your goods. We watched the live Sweet Genius competition as well.
I made some friends with super cute shoes!! I would totally wear those. The middle pictures are from the professional cake competition. The dark cake was SO GORGEOUS. The artist made her fondant look like leather and the corset tier was simply amazing.
I found a new apron 😍 And how could I say no to coffee I can carry around everywhere with me??
Bring on day #2!!!
And I'm off for the day!!! We're headed to the convention center. I can't wait!!
