my point being that his very strong and generally bad ideas of right and wrong sort of control the second half of his life anyways this is the only discourse i care about participating in
but then that gets into the argument of what hogwarts houses represent in the first place??? because morality as a concept isn’t tied to any of the houses, and neither is a lot of things that could just be personality flaws that fucked him over. like, i guess it depends on what you think hamilton values more, because while he does preach being courageous and brave to his son, every other conversation he has with burr is about ambition and challenging him to chase after his like hamilton chases his own.
plus slytherins value fraternity and i think the first half of his life and how he mADE FRIENDS WHO SHARED HIS AMBITIONS AND HIS DREAM and how they were loyal to each other 'until the end’. like, you can argue that the second half of his life started falling apart the second he lost that fraternity cuz he lost laurens and burr and hamilton betrayed each other and they each lost sight of what they truly wanted as they both entered destructive cycles
... like voldemort did haha so i dONT DOUBT that what hamilton does during the second half of his life is still a very slytherin thing to do. i def also see your point tho but i think the way hamilton looks back at his life and one of the first things he reflects upon is ‘i can use what i have to make a difference to the world’ just shows that BRUHH.. AMBITION, MAN...
