Beirut: Two enormous explosions devastated Beirut's port on Tuesday, leaving at least 73 people dead and thousands injured, shaking distant buildings and spreading panic and chaos across the Lebanese capital.
The second blast sent an enormous orange fireball into the sky, flattened the harbourside and drove a tornado-like shockwave through the city, shattering windows kilometres (miles) away.
Bloodied and dazed wounded stumbled among the debris, glass shards and burning buildings in central Beirut as the health ministry reported 73 dead and 3,700 injured and the minister bemoaned "a disaster in every sense of the word".
Just want everyone to know, i’m not ever going to forget about this. August 4, 2020. I will never forget the terrified screams ringing through the city of Beirut.
Nor will i forget the bloodied faces of victims or the anguished faces of their loved ones looking on.
I will never forget the sirens beginning to wail one by one in the streets.
And i will never forget the images of the explosion itself, devastating an already devastated community.
I don’t live in Labanon. But what impacted this nation impacts us all.

The coverage of Rohingya genocide in Myanmar overshadows war crimes unfolding elsewhere. Don't forget about Yemen. 😞 #EndTheYemenSeige #Rohingyagenocide
Caption on post - Yesterday's updates on Nakba Day (May 15), as Palestinians commemorated 76 years of the ongoing Nakba, Gaza has gone through 222 days of genocide. Gaza itself was born out of the Nakba, so on this day we must understand that what is being committed against the Palestinians in Gaza is not separate from the ongoing Nakba, it is part of the constant process of colonization and displacement of Palestinians from our homeland.
