Shabby chic Halloween
The Halloween Wedding
When you first hear the words 'Halloween Wedding' your mind might conjure up a myriad of spooky images. Skull and crossbones wedding cakes, black wedding dresses and pumpkin centrepieces. Pumpkin centrepieces you say? Now this got me thinking. A lot of people getting married around this time might run away at the sound of pumpkins assuming they are not fitting with the elegant, sophisticated style they are going for on their big day. But what if there was a way of incorporating them into your Halloween wedding and making them look classy as hell (sorry I had to). Luckily pumpkin centrepieces can be really versatile and the best part is that they are super affordable too.

Below I've included my favourites from online, some of which have tutorials so you can have a go yourselves.
Painting a pumpkin is an easy way of making it look instantly chic. All you have to do then if place a vase with water inside and add some flowers in the centre.
Have a look at Chatelaine for more stunning photos and inspiration.

If you're looking for some mood lighting on your table then why not make these candleholders? Add a splatter of glitter and you're flying! Twig and Thistle have a full tutorial for this beautiful piece which you can find here.
Mod Podge is one of the most essential tools for any crafter and for this project you may need an entire bottle of it. However if the finished product is anything like the image below you definitely won't mind. Country Living will show you exactly how it's done.
Be prepared to find bits of glitter in your home for weeks after this project by Amy of PBteen. This is a wonderful tutorial with the added bonus of some dreamy photography.
Adding a lace pattern to anything is an instant winner in my book. Martha Stewart has a fabulous tutorial for these green beauties.
12 Days of Christmas Day 5~ Perfect Pumpkins
So when halloween comes around i always try my hardest to make my pumpkin look as glamorous and unusual as i can. This year i have found a few ideas that are really different and will look amazing as centre pieces or on your doorstep.
Trick or Treat Pumpkin 1. Paint you pumpkin white, this may take a few coats of paint before it is completely white, then paint the stalk black. 2. Draw on the trick or treat text using a pencil, this can be any font you like, if you need help you can print out a stencil. 3. Using a small brush paint ontop of the text, you can use a permanent marker to straighten any edges. 4. Add further decorations, these can be ribbons, beads and pieces of lace.
Glitter Pumpkin 1.Using a large paintbrush cover your pumpkin with pva glue. 2. Choose a coloured glitter (i prefer blacks and silvers for a glamorous look). Cover the pumpkin completely in the glitter, this might take a few coats. 3. When finished cover the pumpkin with a coat of spray glue or clear varnish. 4. Finally paint the stalk, you could even use a contrasting colour of glitter on the stalk.
Lace Pumpkin 1. Paint your pumpkin white, the pumpkin may need a few coats of paint. 2. Using lace fabric or tights, cover the pumpkin and pin around the stalk. 3. Paint the stem with black paint, and your pumpkin is complete.
Bat Pumpkins 1. Cut out different shaped bats from black paper or felt fabric. You can use stencils to get different shapes. 2.Using pva glue, place your bats in an upward flying motion. 3. Paint the stalk a dark colour. You can also paint the pumpkin for a different effect.
Studded Pumpkin 1. Carve your pumpkin, scary faces really do work well. 2. Paint your pumpkin, this can be any colour but is more effective if you can get studs that match. 3. Start to stud your pumpkin, studding in straight lines looks better than random placement. 4. Add more studs and even a little ribbon on the stalk.
I hope these pumpkins have inspired you to step outside the box when it comes to decorating your pumpkins this year. Rottentouch v-v
