I read a post earlier about supporting black businesses. And I have to agree with it 100% Starting with #ChefEddiesRestaurant in Downtown Orlando. I try not to criticize or should I say "offer constructive criticism" without having a solution to offer, but it seems like this place of business tends to operate on the ignorance of it's communities lack of understanding about how business is conducted. When me and my wife went there for the first time, it was an unpleasant experience starting with the staff, now I'm all for helping those in need, (The Homeless, former drug addicts) but if you're going to hire them atleast train them properly in Hospitality services and hygiene. The seats had oil stains and food crumbs on the table, not to mention the servers were loud and had very bad breath. My wife (owner of www.kenyastravelcorner.com) clearly said she won't be going back, and being a travel Specialist and Concierge is it important for us to know where to send clients for a good time. However, being that Chef Eddie's is a Black owned establishment I decided that not only should I support this business, but I will come in and offer my assistance being I have more that 18 years in the Hospitality industry. I've learned from the best, Philadelphia, New York City, Miami Beach and Key west Florida. And I was willing to come in as a part-time employee. I walked in and asked very politely "To whom may I speak with about employment here"? And before I could finish the Question, I was treated like I was coming to close down the place. When we use the terms support Black businesses, we need to understand that it's okay to say hey, if you want my support, my hard earned money then you need to treat me like you do White Customers, because my money is just as green as their money. But it's sad to say, I won't be going back. 🙁🙁🙁🙁 #poorservices #unprofessional #nastyfood #lackofknowlege #kenyastravelcorner #cdupreegetaway https://www.instagram.com/p/BuCR2lMnlRY/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1ho6refph85c5
