La Colectiva Feminista en Construcción y otras organizaciones feministas llevamos desde finales del 2018 exigiendo que el estado asuma responsabilidad — SU RESPONSABILIDAD — en atender de manera urgente la violencia machista que sigue cobrando vidas en el país. Denunciamos que tal Estado de Emergencia, según propusimos, exigimos y reclamamos NO HA ENTRADO EN VIGOR. Al día de hoy, 99 días de dicha declaración, ponemos en entredicho el compromiso del gobernador Pedro Pierluisi en actuar con la importancia, agilidad y efectividad que los tiempos nos requiere. En Puerto Rico a las mujeres nos siguen matando, violando, agrediendo, precarizando. NUESTRAS VIDAS IMPORTAN. Hoy, 3 de mayo, hacemos un llamado a las mujeres en el país y a quienes nos quieran acompañar a salir a la calle y exigir la implementación de lo declarado. LA EMERGENCIA amerita que el todo el gobierno, que incluye al gobernador y su gabinete, las agencias públicas, los municipios, la legislatura y la rama judicial prioricen, atiendan y accionen para erradicar la violencia de género. I paused to think, "yeah you're right," I admitted, "I should have confidence in myself." Glancing at the clock I said, "anyways it's getting late and I'm still left with the assignment. See you later." I need the call and went back to my studies. On Saturday morning I felt more energetic than usual. I dressed in a blue tunic and jeans with jacket and left my hair loose. I arrived at the library at about 11:05. Walking past the shelves to the sitting area I hesitantly searched for sousuke.

Sousuke enters the library at 11:00, looking fashionable in his black skinny jeans, tight grey t-shirt, and sunglasses hanging off the collar of his shirt. He looks around to see if you’ve arrived, but when he doesn’t spot you, he shrugs and heads over to the sitting area. Not very long after, he spots you looking around.

“Oi, over here,” he calls over to you in a loud whisper, his books and papers already spawled onto one of the tables.

I completely lost focus of my work as soon as I heard her say the word 'date.' "This is too fast!" I complained but quickly changed the subject when she finished talking, "wait, so he's fine with it? My math is horrible anyways..." I then imagined the upcoming event and stiffened at the negative thoughts, "I-I won't even be able to face him!" I told Gou.

“Yes you will!” Gou retorts. “You need to have more confidence in yourself, Lacole. You’re so kind and pretty, any guy should be nervous just talking to you. Besides, you don’t even need to worry too much. It’s not an actual date, it’s just a tutoring session. The two of you will be able to hang out more and get to know each other, and then from there he might end up actually asking you out on a real date,” her voice gets even more excited as she says that. “Wouldn’t that be amazing?”

I stared at her, 'its.. Okay? Come on let's go back to school.' The whole day, thoughts about sousuke kept coming to me and I felt flustered about the conversation I had earlier with Gou. At evening I bid farewell to the others and returned home.

Aa you’re getting ready to start working on your homework, you feel your cellphone vibrate in your pocket. Once you answer is, you hold the phone up to your ear.

“Lacole! Guess what!” Gou shouts out on the other end of the phone, causing you to pull it a few inches away. “You and Sousuke are going to have a date!…Well, not really. It’s more like a study date. I told him that you need help in Algebra, and he agreed to help you! You’re going to meet at the library in town on Saturday at 11 AM, so don’t be late~” she smiles om the other end of the phone.
