Kakashi Hatake x Tsunades daughter! Reader!
18+, MDNI!
“it’s one in the morning ms.senju, I should really get you home before lady tsunade notices” said kakashi rubbing the back of his head.
Tsunade’s daughter, was currently drunk 5 shots of sake in and as much as a lightweight as her mother.
“Kakashi 2 more shots pleasee!” she pleaded, Jumping up toward him, not realizing how close the overhead lamp really is.
Thunk.
The metal frame of the hanging lamp catches her square on the forehead.
“Ow—!” she says immediately covering were the lamp had just hit her.
“You’re okay” says kakashi while reassuring her. “I was wondering when that would happen” He said gently removing her hand.
“Oh!” said kakashi slightly suprised
“what?”
“you’re bleeding” he said as he grabbed a napkin to apply pressure. “I should really get you home y/n.”
She starred at him for a moment before bursting into laughter.
“why are you laughing?”
“The lamp won,” she snorted. “The daughter of the hokage lost to a furniture!” she said still laughing.
“A lamp is not furniture.”
“Yes it is.” she said back snarkily. kakashi smiling under his mask still cleaning off the blood from her forehead.
“Hold still.”
“I am holding still.”
“You moved three times.”
“I moved twice.”
“You moved four times.”
y/n gasped dramatically.
His hand remained beneath her chin as he tilted her head upward to inspect the cut. The teasing smile slowly faded from her face.
She suddenly became very aware of how close he was.
Close enough to see the faint scar running near his eye.
Close enough to feel the warmth of his hand against her skin.
Close enough that she could smell the faint scent of rain and forest that always seemed to follow him after missions.
For the first time all night, she fell completely silent.
Kakashi noticed immediately.
“Does it hurt?”
“A little.”
His expression softened.
“Sorry.”
The apology caught her off guard.
“You didn't hit me. the lamp hit me. You worry too much,” she murmured.
“Someone has to.”
“Is that your way of saying you care about me?”
Kakashi froze.
The alcohol made her bold enough to ask.
His silence made her brave enough to keep looking.
For a second, neither moved.
Then Kakashi cleared his throat and stepped back.
“We're leaving.”
“Aww, you care about me.”
“Let's get you home.”
“You do.”
Kakashi sighed.
Y/n laughed victoriously as he guided her toward the door.
The entire walk home was filled with her teasing him and Kakashi pretending not to hear a word of it.
By the time they reached her front door, neither of them was quite ready to say goodnight.
Kakashi stood with his hands in his pockets while Y/n fumbled with her keys.
“You're staring,” she said suddenly.
“I'm making sure you can unlock your door.”
“I can unlock my door.”
The key missed the lock entirely.
Kakashi raised an eyebrow.
“Shut up.” she said as she was finally able to unlock her door.
A quiet laugh escaped him.
The sound made her smile.
For a moment, neither spoke.
The porch lantern cast a warm glow across his face, softening the sharp edges she was so used to seeing on missions.
“You know,” she said quietly, “you're prettier when you smile.”
Kakashi nearly choked.
“Pretty?”
“Very pretty.”
“Y/n—”
“No, seriously.”
The alcohol had given her far more confidence than usual.
She stepped closer.
Kakashi didn't move away.
Her heart pounded.
“You always do that.”
“Do what?”
“Act like you don't know.”
His visible eye softened.
“Know what?”
“That people care about you.”
For once, Kakashi had no clever response.
The silence stretched between them.
Warm.
Comfortable.
Dangerous.
Y/n's gaze drifted to the black mask covering the lower half of his face.
Something she'd wondered about for years.
Something she'd never had the courage to touch.
Until now.
Slowly, she lifted a hand.
Kakashi watched her the entire time.
He could have stopped her.
Her fingers caught the edge of the fabric.
Then she gently pulled it down.
Kakashi's eye widened slightly in surprise.
Y/n stared at him.
“Oh.”
A smile tugged at his lips.
“What?”
“You're even prettier than I thought.”
Kakashi laughed softly.
The sound sent butterflies straight into her stomach.
Before she could lose her nerve, she reached up, grabbed the front of his vest, and pressed a quick kiss to his lips.
The moment lasted only a second.
Maybe two.
When she pulled away, her eyes immediately widened.
“Oh my god.”
The confidence vanished instantly.
“I just kissed you.”
