I'm trying to articulate one of my favorite character types, which I think is "wildly confused about what genre they're in."

Like -- Prince Hans has no idea he's in a disney princess movie. he thinks he's in Game of Thrones. he'd be doing GREAT in game of thrones.

Izzy Hands Our Flag Means Death is like if a side character from Master and Commander wandered into a Jim Henson project. (like Muppet Treasure Island. or Labyrinth.)

And Commodore Norrington... 100% thinks he's in a Jane Austen romance. would be doing Great in a Jane Austen romance. But instead, through no fault of his own, he is surrounded by comedy pirates and fighting skeletons.
