Prayers it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg, but mostly prayers for successful and easier time for her. I know she isn't going to like this.
Usually she is very vocal and when I left her she was quietly protesting which isn't like her.
So of course I'm sitting at home crying.
They have to do xrays and stuff first. Of her mouth to see what needs to be done and then she has to have heart monitoring during the surgery because she has a heart murmur.
They'll call me once the x-rays are done to let me know what needs to be done.
I was feeling a migraine coming on. So I something, and Vayda crawled on me so I laid down.
I was dreaming that I was in someone's house and I went to a room where my father and the brother I live with were doing flooring, I was chatting everyone up (there were other people, kids too, no clue who all was there) when Vayda came to me with one of the kids and he had scissors and they had blood on them and when I was calmly listening to the kid explain that he cut off something when I saw Vayda had a huge chunk of her skin cut off and there was a patch/hole where the kid had cut her. It was huge.
Nightmares should be illegal. 🤬 ESPECIALLY WHEN I DIDN'T WANT TO NAP AND NOW I'M GONNA BE PISSED FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT.
And I'll be worried that I'm going to have another nightmare tonight. 🥺
As if last week wasn't hard enough I gotta start this one with a bloody nightmare 😭
The second I posted the last post, Vayda decides to go to the bathroom, 1 minute maybe 2 minutes, later she comes shooting out of the litterbox and runs around the room, bashing into stuff then up on the bed and all over me and all over the bed, round and round until I could right myself and realize I was covered in...none other than 💩
Gross I know, I am showered, she is wiped down as best we can, I'll do another wipe down once she dries more or first thing in the morning, she is at her limit for touch and I cannot force her when it's not life threatening, it's good enough for now. The bed and room is all cleaned up easily enough.
Vayda is home, surgery went well, they took three teeth did some cleaning and took some protective measures for two other teeth so they don't end up rotting. She has medication (3 different kinds) to take over the next 8 days and she is on permanent soft food for the rest of her life. It's official she is in the old lady cat stage of her life so leaving her alone for extended periods is not going to happen. I will have to have someone feed her if it's for more than 16 hours. In about a month I will also have to get her a lion's mane shave again.
She is a little loopy, like she walks kinda like she's drunk and jumps on the bed a little crooked, she almost fell off my lap rolling around trying to rub everywhere. She does not smell like my cat, I don't know how to explain it but it's weird. She only has one top fang now, and I am sad about that (all the other fangs, bottom two and the one top one were extracted or one fell out) and now i have a one fang girly. She's been very affectionate, wanting to cuddle a lot and be pampered. And she is purring a ton.
The vet team is a husband and wife couple, they met in school to become vets and they are the cutest ever, she is so short and adorable and she loves animals so much, I had a few issues with her and the choice she made not to do something in the past that I won't get into but this situation proved she knows what she is doing, she chose to let her husband do the surgery because she says he has a much firmer but gentler hand than he and she wanted to monitor Vayda's vitals instead of having the vet nurse do it. Vayda has a heart murmur and a condition in her heart, it is only a worry during surgery or anesthesia. And she said your baby is so good and did so well, and she said when they were handling her and giving her the needle she was so patient and didn't snap or hiss at them. She said Vayda did so much better than the other one they had to do that day lol. I am so proud of her and I am so happy I did it. But man am I ever annoyed at how expensive this was. But it was worth it. I love her, she is my furbaby and I would only do this if it was necessary and this way she will heal and her pain will be gone within 6 days.
She has been a rumble of purrs, like I don't know that she has purred this hard ever, she always purrs but it's soft. This has been like a kicked up version of the purring. It's like she is healing herself with her purrs, I swear it's like magic. (Don't worry I will still give her lots of time to heal and all the medication so she has help healing)
Now it's time to really get down to the nitty of saving the last portion of this down payment so I can get the hell out of this city. Y'all Vayda and I are going to move to our own condo. We have to.
I'm just rambling so this is under a cut because it's long and boring.

I'm off today because I'm working Saturday and I have so much to do, but because I was out and on my feet for almost 4 hours yesterday, I'm having a hard time finding any motivation to do anything.
I'm so sore and tired. My hip hurts something fierce. My brain feels like doing nothing, and it can't because I have a safety course for work to take today. Yes I'm off but I have to take the course. This was the only day they could schedule it for everyone. But at least it's only for an hour.
This place I bought needs a lot of work. I really need to get focused on it. I'm trying to figure out if it's better to wait to have all the taps in the house replaced at once or just call the plumbing company to come do the one in the bathtub so I can finally have showers. There's no cold water coming out of the tub tap. And I'm not sure why it's the cold that's not working but I really need the ability to have a shower. The kitchen tap runs so... slow? Low pressure? It also leaks sort of? It's one of those arched faucets with a pull out part. It screams rental. I prefer the pullout part to be separate from the main faucet itself. There's all kinds of small issues too, like a lot of the baseboards need to be replaced, there's a bunch of dings on the walls. The stove needs to be fixed or replaced it burns insanely easily, the drawer is busted. The fridge is actually okay but it's clear the drawers in it are replacement or this fridge is a crap fridge. And the bottom thing in the front is broken. The dishwasher doesn't clean well so I have to really rinse the dishes perfectly which is fine but it's annoying. Oh and the stove light is utterly busted, like, it's hard to explain, I can't just replace the light, I can't even access it enough to figure out if the socket is even usable. The tub is too small. Yes I'm big but I'm pretty sure the tub is too small regardless of my size.
And then there's the whole feeling guilty for not saving more while I was with my brother for all that time. I really have very little. I have made a list of things I need. I can't even say I need them because obviously i don't need them if I'm living without them right now.
But Vayda seems happy. I need to get some things for her too. Once I get the cold water thing resolved, I'm going to get her a cat tree.
But, I have my own place, and I'm living in a city that feels safe. While I was walking around yesterday, it really dawned on me again that I've got no trauma in this city. Sure I've had some unhappy feelings here and this one "human" hurt me emotionally from way way way way back in my 20s. But I don't associate him with the city. In fact I haven't thought about him in a long long time. Oh I did have a dumb boyfriend from here 10 years ago but I truly don't even care about him. But it was strange walking around and realizing that nothing here is going to hit me with trauma reminders.
I will say, I am feeling a little lonely here. But I've been out, I've hung with my friends a few times. In fact I've been fairly busy so I'm not sure why I feel that way. Maybe it's because I lived with my brother for two and half years. Maybe it's because I'm not working in the office so much. Or maybe it's not loneliness I'm feeling, maybe it's something else and I'm having a hard time identifying it. But I'll be okay and I'll get through all this. Little bit by little bit.

I bought all the fixings to make Nigella Lawson's lemon linguine and forgot I did not have a pot big enough to make it. 🤣😂
I laughed so hard while trying to take this picture. But I got a big pot last night so I'll be making this tonight.
Recipe here if you'd like. I'm a terrible cook even with a recipe, but this is my fav thing I make and I use double the lemon she does. Also it's best if you eat it fresh. If you save some for later, I suggest saving as individual portions. But it's truly better made fresh. I tend to cut the recipe in half because I'm just one person. Oh! Saving the pasta water is key!!!!! It turns out a million times better if you use some of the pasta water. I even save an extra half cup and add a tablespoon or three to my saved portions for refrigeration. Not sure why but it makes it better when reheating too.
My friend tagged me in this test and I decided because it was Vayda's birthday I would do the test as if she was answering. And they nailed her i think 🤣
That's my cat y'all. Except she doesn't have much humor to her. But she makes me laugh a lot. And she's annoyed when I laugh 😂
