Hero
*thought of this a while ago. Enjoy!*
August Sanders was just finishing up with their homework. They were starting to learn multiplication in school and they were learning that they hated it with a fiery passion. Upon completing the final problem, August let out a sigh of relief and put down their pencil. They would have their dad check it over after dinner. They wanted to delay redoing the problems they missed as long as possible. As they stood up to go find one of their parents, they noticed a quick movement on the floor.
“Daddy!” They yelled, scampering away from the spider while climbing to the relative safety of their chair. Six men responded to their child’s call, entering the room from various parts of the house. The twins already had their weapons out, ready to eviscerate and defenestrate anyone who dared threaten their precious baby.
Patton reacted first, racing to August’s side, his paternal instinct outweighing his own fear of the creepy crawly death dealer. He lifted August into his arms before climbing on the chair himself, doing his best to see to the child’s emotional needs.
Roman was next. He leaped into action, preparing to slice the spider clean down the center before a yellow gloved hand latched onto his wrist. Janus picked up an empty glass and August’s worksheet and set to work. He covered the spider with the cup, neutralizing the threat. He then slid the homework underneath the lip of the cup before lifting the captive arachnid and depositing it outside.
When he returned, August and Patton had gotten down from the chair and August raced toward him. They jumped into his arms and kissed his scaly cheek.
“Daddy, you’re a hero!” They yelled, holding tight around his shoulders and snuggling close into his chest. Janus’ heart stuttered for a moment. It almost stopped beating entirely when Patton came over and gave his husband a peck on the lips before joining the hug with a quiet, “Our hero.”
*Quick A/N. This is not Rem/Rom. Remus and Roman have a completely familial relationship. They just happen to be married to the same four guys. I just wanted to make that clear. Thank you and have a nice day.*
