Thousands of blue and yellow tiles adorn the facade of the aptly named House of Tiles. It was built in the Spanish Moorish-inspired style and reminds me of palaces in Seville. Built in the 16th century, this home exchanged many owners, one of which was shot on the grand staircase because he would not let the other gentleman call upon a lady in his household. Love makes people do crazy things. Now it belongs to the restaurant/department store @solosanborns and contains a little souvenir store in the front and a restaurant in the fabulous courtyard. I highly recommend getting a table so you could take in the peacock adorned murals and interior architecture. You don’t have to be a customer to walk up the grand staircase to the second floor. Head up the steps, whose walls are also tiled, to get a birds eye view of the interior courtyard. Wander to the bar which will transport you back to the 1920s. #LanaCDMX #mexicocityarchitecture #visitmexico (at The House of Tiles.) https://www.instagram.com/lanaland/p/Bv9EdwxBM6Y/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=pwkfjl1ufirf
