A picture. A single image reminding you of someone or something you've lost, something you don't want to live without. You can't seem to move on, to accept life has changed, to live again. You're trapped in the picture, in the past. Maybe this was a lost family member or friend, maybe this was a sickness that isn't going away, maybe this was sinking into depression. But you can't help but remember how life was before, how life after will never be the same, and can't help but feel that nothing in the future will be able to fill the hole the past left. Nothing lasts forever... Right?

There is a part of Lance that hasn’t let go of the past. But perhaps he is slowly learning to move on...

Welcome back to another Eorzean Calendar brought to you by @rakuza‘s characters! Took a bit of a small break in posting them because I had wanted to get on track with the current month/moon and I had forgotten to post this in the month of October. (It had been a little crazy busy!) For the Fifth Umbral Moon, I present to you Lance Barrington once again! I asked a few friends to think up of any questions one might have for Lance so here they are!

Q: What is his favourite drink, meal, and place?

His favourite drink is rolanberry juice. (He likes most juices but this is his favourite.) His favourite meal includes anything with some kind of steak. (His favourite steak thus far is auroch.) And his favourite place to go is the area around Hermits’ Hovel in the Outer reaches of La Noscea.

Q: Why did you make him in the first place?

This is not an easy question to answer, but a lot of it is just personal reasons. Lance easily fit one of my other character concepts that I’ve used in the past (hello City of Heroes!) and because of that, I decided to create Lance while keeping his previous incarnation in this game. Yes, Lance was not always a Hyur Midlander.

Q: How big is he underneath those pants?

How the hell does one answer this without incriminating anything bad/shameful? You should be ashamed of yourself for asking this! But let’s just say he has pleased every partner he’s sexual relations with. That should give you an idea of how big he is. :D

Q: What are the reasons why he doesn’t love Khuja? ( @khujatotayuun )

Hey, we’ve gone over this before. While Lance does not approve of Khuja’s life choices, he does not judge him for them. If only Khuja wasn’t so involved... Well, you of all people should know the answer to this! :D

So far, I’ve been having fun RPing Lance ever since the change. His character and core personality and ideals never did change. He did, however, become a much more jaded and cynical character because of the events that have happened in his life in the past few years.

"I didn’t even realize that it’d only take one alcoholic-laid kiss for someone to have a crush on me. But I guess that’s what I get for expecting everything to go a certain way. He’s definitely someone I could call a friend and I know he’s hoping for more. It’s hard with him being so nice and handsome... and he knows the culinary arts. But with his situation and mine just not jiving with one another, I’m afraid friends is where it will stay. I do have to admit though he speaks odd, even for someone in Limsa. Hmm...”

Here we go, halfway into the calendars! Third Umbral Moon features a character named Lance Barrington. But if you have a character who has gotten to know him well enough, you’d know that it isn’t his real name! See below for his info.

BRIEF HISTORY: In no way, shape, or form did Sizha’to grow up a normal life. He lost his mother at the age of 14 after sacrificing herself to save her family. When the family fell into despair, Sizha’to acted as the pillar to get them back up on their feet and to help them find reason with continuing on with their life. Sizha’to felt that it was what his mother would have wanted. After going through some hardships and meeting an old friend of their mothers, Sizha’to would further lose the rest of his family and his mothers’ adventurer friend who he had become close to and found himself alone. In an effort to kill himself using fantasia potions, he instead transformed into a tall midlander and it took him over a month to become accustomed to his new form. He was given the name ‘Lance’ by a friend, and Barrington was a name he found as an author of one of the books inside The Ossuary. He then dealt with villains who have made attempts with his life and kidnapped him to The Far East. He has returned to Eorzea; however, his captors are now on the lookout for him.

PERSONALITY: One thing about Lance is that he never hides his true feelings. It’s something that he is upfront with in most circumstances. He is, however, considerate of others’ feelings so he knows how to lighten up on situations if he deems it necessary to. He feels that doing this, there are no presumptions and you can be on the same page as he. He is also quite protective of his friends and will try everything he can to keep them out of harms’ way, especially knowing that none of his family members are among the living. Recently, however, he has learned to lighten up and have more fun and to enjoy himself more often thanks to a man that saved him in Hingashi and helped him return to Eorzea. While he is a bit more reserved now than he was in the past and a little more jaded, he is trying to find a balance between the two so that he can stay true to himself while becoming a better person at the same time.
