Rebel Love Song | Landlyn
(this is really lame and sucky im sorry)
"I just don’t know what to do." Dylan sighed for what seemed like the nine hundredth time to Landon. He had recently had a bad break up with Josie, and Landon decided to take him out for dinner to help take his mind off of things. They had just left the restaurant and were now walking Dylan back to his house. Landon was trying not to get annoyed with Dylan, because he was afraid of maybe hurting his feelings, but he was seriously getting sick of hearing him complain about not knowing what to do.
Finally, after five more times of Dylan repeating himself, Landon sighed and grabbed both sides of the boy’s face. “Dylan…” Landon said slowly, pulling him gently towards him so their faces were inches apart. “Get over it.” He let go of his friend and continued walking. Sure enough, less than eight seconds later Dylan was whining again.
"But I just don’t know what to-"
"Maybe you should just date someone else, then!" Landon blurt out before he could stop himself. "You know… It might help.." He added quietly.
"You’re lying. I don’t want to date anyone else." Dylan said sadly. Landon gave him a sad look. "Well, you did tonight." The look that Dylan gave him made Landon laugh quietly. "Well, I took you out for dinner and now I’m walking you home. That’s a date, is it not?"
"Well…" Dylan stammered. "I.. I guess so, kind of. But-"
“Okay…” Landon interrupted quickly. “This is probably the worst time to say this. So I’m sorry, but I have to tell you something.”
Dylan raised an eyebrow and gave Landon an almost scared look. “Yes…?”
"I almost think that I actually kind of almost maybe might like you a lot." Landon said quickly. Dylan went quiet, and Landon gave him an awkward smile.
After a few moments of silence, Dylan spoke up. “Why-“
"I just can’t hide what’s on my mind." Landon explained quietly. "But like, every time we talk or hang out I just feel something burning deep inside me and I tried to ignore it but I can’t.” The two boys stood there for a while until Dylan quietly spoke.
"You don’t mean that…"
Landon nodded, smiling. “I do. And I’m never going to change my mind about it.” He was relieved that Dylan was still here, but still worried that he’d walk away. “We can make it work, if you want to. We can take all of your drama shit and just leave it all behind us. And… And nothing can stop us either. Not this time..”
"Landon-"
Landon suddenly grabbed Dylan’s hand with both of his. “Just-Take my hand. It’ll be like one of those lame love songs you hear on the radio!”
Dylan let out a laugh, rolling his eyes jokingly. “A rebel love song.” He teased.
"Exactly!" Landon exclaimed, then began singing. "Hearts will sacrifice, it’s do or die-"
"Whaaaaat are you doing?" Dylan chuckled. Landon gave him a look. "This is our Rebel Love Song" he said it as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Dylan laughed, shaking his head slightly as they continued walking, their hands linked together.
