Oh oh! Can Pancake x Dino-sour be one of them? and for the song uhm im okay with either Hollow or with what ever seems fit cuz i don't know any of these songs ^^;
I’m so very sorry it’s taken me so darn long to get to these. The truth is I bit off a bit more than I could chew on some events in other fandoms and found myself more busy than I counted on. I hope everyone who waited so long still likes their drabbles (or even sees them). (*ノ-ノ) In any case, this drabble has nothing to do with the song, but I mean, I still listened to it to plan it, so I suppose it counts? I’ll link it either way. cx I hope you liked it as much as I liked writing it! This ship is so cute.
“Hollow” - Pansour
“Where are you going?”
Dinosour nearly jumped out of his skin at the sudden intrusion of a voice in the darkness. He still squawked aloud, much to the amusement of whoever had spoken in the first place. The gentle laughter was instantly recognizable to Dinosour and, despite his previous fear, his heart warmed at the sound. His head turned up to the treetops to see Pancake lounging among the branches.
Really, Dinosour should’ve expected to be caught sneaking out. He’d never really been great at this sort of thing. Best he could hope for now was to lie his way out of it... “Just going for a walk,” he said with an easy smile. Even Gummi gave a disbelieving huff as she lounged on his shoulder. Dinosour gently patted her head, hoping she’d get the hint to not ruin this for him.
“I don’t believe you,” Pancake said, a smile playing on his lips, “You’re going to Dragon’s Valley.”
Dinosour heaved a sigh. Gummi climbed down from his shoulder into his hands, so he pet her idly. “Maybe. What’s it to you?” The question would’ve sounded a little threatening if the two didn’t know each other so well.
Pancake leaped down from the tree with terrifying ease, seemingly unfazed by the heavy landing on the ground. He stepped close, tracing a soft line from the tip of Gummi’s mouth, to the edge of her tail. Deep in her throat, the dinosaur let out a satisfied sound. “Maybe I just kinda want to know where my boyfriend’s going in the middle of the night?” Pancake said.
The question was light-hearted enough, but it was quiet. Dinosour recognized the tone well. “You don’t need to worry about me,” he said, “I thought what you liked about me is that I’m big and strong.”
Pancake scowled and glared at Dinosour through the tops of his eyelashes. “You’re barely a couple centimeters taller than me.”
“Yeah, but I’ve got these.” Dinosour shifted Gummi over to one arm so he could flex the other. He gave Pancake a wink.
Now it was Pancake’s turn to sigh, but Dinosour still caught the twinkle in his eye. Pancake shook his head, then glanced into the forest beyond. “You know Millennial is telling you to stay home for your own good, don’t you?”
Dinosour frowned.
“I know you want to go out, but...”
“I’ll be safe.”
“You might be, but that doesn’t stop Millennial from worrying,” Pancake said, “Or me.”
Pancake was right, of course. Despite his sometimes childish nature, Pancake was the wiser out of the two of them. Still, Dinosour was resistant. He’d been disallowed from the Valley for days thanks to some volcanic activity. “It’s almost certainly blown over,” Dinosour said, “Millennial is only tacking on the extra day because he’s a worry-wart.”
“Are you going to call me a worry-wart next, then?” Pancake asked, faking a pout, “I’m too cute for insults like that!”
Dinosour rolled his eyes.
“Look, how about we make a deal? If you stay home one more night, just in case, we’ll bake some very delicious cookies.”
“That’s what you want to do,” Dinosour pointed out.
“Well then, you’ll eat the very delicious cookies.”
Dinosour smiled, despite himself. “If I can get to them before you do.”
“Obviously.” Pancake smiled back, the expression soothing Dinosour’s soul.
He finally relented, pulling Pancake into a sideways hug to walk back to the house. “Fine.”
Pancake didn’t try to wiggle out of Dinosour’s grasp, instead laying his head on Dinosour’s shoulder. He ignored Gummi’s squeak of protest at her prized perch being stolen. “Thank you,” Pancake said.
Dinosour blushed, wondering for the millionth time how he’d gotten so lucky. “Eh. You’re cooler than Dragon’s Valley anyway.”
I know none of these songs, but I'm really curious. So, "Stay" for Cotton Candy X Dino-sour?
Ah, what a good ship! It’s sooo sweet. <3 The songs have very little to do with anything other than being a starting place for me, but I’ll go ahead and link them, I suppose. Just know that they don’t represent much. cx This one’s the most popular on the list so you might recognize it after all. Thank you for the request! It was an absolute joy to write with these two. I’m sorry it took me so long to get to it. ^.^’
“Stay” - Dinocotton
Dinosour was, if he was being honest, the type of person to take the little things for granted. Excitement that got his blood pumping always seemed more important. if he wasn’t active, then he was just bored.
But this singular, quiet moment he was in was one of the most beautiful things he’d ever experienced. He let his fingers weave through the soft strands of Cotton’s hair, calmed by the feeling of it sliding between the gaps of his fingers. The weight of her head in his lap was just as satisfying, a constant reminder that he wasn’t alone. The entirety of the scene made Dinosour’s heart swell with joy.
“Um, Dino,” Cotton said.
Dinosour snapped back to the present, shifting his gaze to look Cotton in the eyes. She looked shy, her eyes wide and a light dusting of red on her cheeks. He slipped his hand out of her hair, concerned she was uncomfortable.
“We can change the movie you know.”
Dinosour had to blink a couple of times before he even remembered that this was movie night. He looked up to the TV, taking in the scene of two nervous youths bumbling their way through a date. “It’s fine,” he said, leaning back into the couch.
“You’re bored,” Cotton said and although Dinosour was avoiding looking at her, he still saw her lips purse, “We could turn on an action movie you want.”
“I like this one,” Dinosour insisted.
“You haven’t been paying attention.”
“I have!”
Cotton made a face, as if she was trying very hard to believe him, but failing miserably. After a moment she gently asked, “How did Sam and Alex meet?”
Dinosour’s eyes went back to the screen. He guessed Sam and Alex were the couple, but he couldn’t even begin to lie his way out of this one. There was a slight pause before Dinosour sighed. He smiled a little. “I’m not bored,” he admitted, “Just… distracted.”
Cotton propped herself up on her elbows, bringing their faces closer together. Dinosour was blushing before he could stop himself. “Are you okay?” she was genuinely concerned, searching his eyes for signs of discomfort.
Dinosour put on the big grin he was so used to wearing, ignoring the fluttering of his pulse. “Great!”
Cotton was completely unconvinced by his confidence. “Then why are you distracted?”
Dinosour swallowed, the smile disappearing immediately. He rubbed the back of his neck, looking everywhere but at Cotton. “Just, um…” he trailed off, not really sure if he was ready to admit even a sliver of his feelings. There were too many stories of unrequited romance destroying friendships. After a moment, he settled on what seemed like a safe middle ground. “I was just thinking that it was nice. Us two hanging out.”
Dinosour waited for Cotton to react, but she didn’t, not really.
“Is that it?” Cotton asked, staring up at him with wide eyes.
Dinosour blushed even deeper, but the tenseness in his muscles relaxed. “That’s it.”
A second of silence, then Cotton finally did move. With the slightest hint of a laugh, she sat up just enough to place a kiss on Dinosour’s nose. “I like hanging out with you, too.”
Dinosour was stunned, unable to move, let alone breathe, as Cotton went back a couple scenes in the movie.
Emmett had been extremely surprised to find out that Lane and Spencer had broken up. Sure he knew they had some problems between the two of them because Jake and Lane had history and Lane wasn't quite over it, but he never thought it'd get to the point of actually causing them to break up. Not that any of it mattered any more - what was done is done and all Emmett could do was damage control, meaning that he was going to go over and spend as much time as was needed making Lane feel better. He had no clue where Spencer was but he figured he'd get around to talking to him later once Emmett was sure that Lane was feeling better.
It was upsetting for him to see his best friend in this state, especially after he knew that Lane had been going to therapy and was getting better. He wished that there was something he could do or say to make it all better but Emmett was never the master of relationships, having had only one failed one, or dealing with emotions. He was used to being the guy who tried to cheer everyone up though, so that's what he was going to do.
He showed up at Lane's door with a bunch of his videogames and DVDs, not to mention ice cream. He knocked twice on the door waiting for Lane to open up.
