saw this tiktok of a girl basically complaining that writers will give rafe a ‘girl bsf’ or have him use ‘princess’ because it’s ‘not canon’ && ‘rafe would never act like that/have a girl bsf’. . . i fear that is the whole point!
i just love when it’s called fanFICTION && therefore doesn’t have to ‘follow the rules’ :) it’s also about a FICTIONAL character, so does it really matter? also, there’s plenty of works where rafe is very canon && they are free to read!
i just thought that was so funny because she was saying how writers ‘clearly don’t know rafe’ && they ‘need to rewatch obx if they think he would act like that’. . . if you want him written a certain way—write. it. yourself.
k bye this rant was so unnecessary, but i had to share because it made me laugh—it’s never that serious!!!

edit: the post, for reference. . . i went back && there’s more people accentuating that it is in fact FICTION, but this still just made me giggle—no hate to the girl i just thought this was a very-close minded take && kind of disrespectful towards writers who do this FOR FUN && should have the creative freedom to write characters however they want!
