To me there's three ways to identify something. Lantern Mouse, Rat baby thing, or Doombringer Either you're the critter whos the cutest thing ever or you're a fucked up thing that's so ugly it's cute or you're cute but also kinda weird looking and incredibly annoying. you can put anything in these labels if you try hard enough

I’d love to have a lantern mouse toy irl

This is just a general concept that came to mind. It would be made out of that squishy silicone material. Yk the kind that’s vaguely translucent. And inside there’s an LED light source that turns on when you squish the lantern mouse. For the ones irl you tap them on the head to turn on the light, so maybe it’s not so far fetched to squish the lantern mouse to turn on the light. I guess it would be okay to also tap the lantern mouse, it’s just that they activate my cuteness aggression and I really want to aggressively squeeze them until their eyeballs pop out and rip their little heads off.

The tail could be made out of a stretchier material like whatever those sticky hand toys are made of. It would be cool to have a suction cup at the end of the tail to put it on the ceiling or something and make sure it stays there, since the sticky probably won’t be enough to keep it on the ceiling. And for the eyes i want the biggest boba eyes it can possibly have. Would also be cool if they can pop out when squeezed like those animal trinkets. And the dots on the back can just be printed on the silicone.

Jaybird and Aki grew up as close friends, they're parents knew each other and often times allowed them to explore shaded citadel together, at least without going too far. However one day, Jaybird told Aki they should venture further, find more places to explore since they had explore all they knew. Aki hesitantly agreed. They explored farther from home and eventually found themselves lost in the middle of garbage wastes(Arti pre-pup death timeline) where they met a slugcat whom simingly had rot on them, Void. Void, being the lil bitch she is, murdered Aki for food, and attempted to murder Jaybird, but was saved by a scavenger named Jess. Jess lost their arm and eye to Void but managed to scramble away before getting killed. Jaybird is now being haunted by Aki's ghost and constantly blames herself for her best friend's death as well as for loosing their parents. Jaybird eeventually met Void again within a timeline between rubicon and ascention, and is now stuck there for an eternity, simply watching the Echos play their lives on repeat.
