Guess who’s all wrapped up in a box, ready for Christmas? It’s Mister Tumnus strolling through Lantern Waste!
He’s got parcels under one arm, furry legs and cloven feet, little horns and pointy ears, and even a little muscle definition, if you look closely. Yes, the lamp does have a tendency to slump, but it was awfully tricky to roll the clay thin enough to make the lantern panes transparent, and the lantern post hollow enough to fit wiring. I also super-glued my fingers together several times, splicing LED lights and trying to feed them through and properly secure them.
Yes, it’s entirely hand-made from polymer clay, with the exception of a wire and LED bulb I cut off a Christmas string.
Welcome to Narnia :-)

Inktober 30 - An Elephant in Narnia by me!
For the second to last day of Inktober, I decided to draw something I've wanted to see done. This is fan art of my favorite book series, The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, & it also features my favorite animal, the elephant. Here we see a Narnian elephant having a stroll through the woods during a summer day, & as he passes the famous lamppost of Lantern Waste, he comes across his good friend, the faun Mr. Tumnus. This scene doesn't actually happen in any of the books, but it could because it is canon with the series. It's established in the first book, The Magician's Nephew, that elephants are inhabitants of Narnia since the very beginning. In fact, an elephant was among the first to be part of Aslan the lion's first council regarding the state of the new world. So here's just a scene I imagine set between the last two chapters of The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe during Narnia's Golden Age when the four Pevensie children ruled at Cair Paravel. In case anyone's wondering, I firmly believe elephants are & always will be on Aslan's side, much like the centaurs & other loyal creatures! I hope that other great Narnia blogs on Tumblr like @dailynarnia enjoy this! Enjoy, & there's only one more day of Inktober left. I'll have something up for tomorrow as well!
