who do you look up to?

"i want tom ford’s success, but something about him doesn’t click right for me." it was envy, rather than opinion that got him ousted from the label. in fact, the ability to reach across so many art forms and so many elites was more resonant for anton.

but he always had his stock answer ready, an unquestionable icon. "so it has to be alexander mcqueen. at the end of the day, he was someone who didn’t come from the british elite and he fucking smashed it at having a legacy. he defined a new style. he made people interested in fashion. i want that, but more."
