Maybe a bride ! reader, Henry gives in and makes him a companion. Or when he's on the run he meets someone who takes him in and over time he learns what love is, since Adam deserves love it was a crime he's left alone?
Scar Tissue
Summary: After what feels like an eternity of asking, Adamās lonely wishes have finally come true. (AKA Henry gives in and makes Adam a companion)
Warnings: fluff, slight mentions of smut, mentions of bruising, mentions of scars, mentions of unintentional roughness, Adam is shy and loves you a lot, multiple mentions of ping pong (not exactly a warning I just donāt know why I mention it so much lol) (Adam does love it though)
Word Count: 1983
Notes: thank you so much for requesting this!!! I love Depraved and thereās no content out there about it, so Iām more than happy to write something for it lol. I might have to add Adam to my list of characters Iāll write for honestly.
As the summary suggests, I decided to go with the first option, of Henry making Adam a companion.
This ended up being a sorta fluffy rambling, about Adam being happy to finally have someone in his life. Heās just so sweet or something idk I love him <3
Enjoy!!!!!
Adam was lonely.
Henry had been spending more time in his makeshift operating room. Adam found this strange, and had tried to find out why, though every time he asked Henry had simply brushed him off. Sometimes he would change the subject, and other times he just wouldn't speak. Adam grew increasingly frustrated by this, though he eventually took the hint, dropping the subject entirely despite still wishing to know the truth.
The extra time alone gave Adam a lot more space to think, but the more time he had to think the more isolated he felt. The small space he was confined to felt an awful lot more empty when it was just him. He had no one to speak to, no one to listen to, not even anyone to play ping pong with. The idleness allowed his mind to race, and it always ended up racing back to the same thing - his need for some form of a companion.
Henry was ok company, but he wasn't always around and when he was, he could sometimes be cold. Adam wanted someone more present, more kind, and as he eventually decided - more female. A lot of his more recent nights were spent laying awake, staring at a dark ceiling while he thought about having someone there. He wanted a companion, a partner, a girl to spend his time with and to keep him company.
He had seen other people find this - that was how he first learned the feeling of jealousy. He had grasped the concept of love, though he was yet to experience it. The closest he ever got was in his sleep, when he would dream of faces he didn't fully recognise. He would see flashes of characters from some form of a past life that he didn't fully understand, people he guessed must have been important to someone at some point in time.
This ache for companionship lasted for a long time, but it finally ceased the first day he first saw you. Henry had called him in to the operating room, promising some "big surprise". Adam could have never guessed that this surprise would be you.
You were laid out on the operating table. You were beautiful, Adam decided this the second he saw you. There was no sign of life, not yet - you were still asleep, a white sheet pulled over you leaving only your head and your hair visible, body as still as a stone. So peaceful.
It took him a few moments to process what he was seeing. Was he dreaming? He barely even understood dreams, but he knew they never felt this real. So this had to be real. You had to be real. Adam had been asking for this for so long, almost as long as he could remember being alive. Henry had kept saying no, insisting that he didn't need a girl, despite Adam's attempts of convincing him otherwise. Clearly, one of those attempts had eventually worked.
Though he couldn't see your body, your face told him you were just like him - scars just like his, though his were healed. Yours were more fresh.
Henry was stood by your head, cautious eyes watching Adam as the latter remained in place, still not believing that what he was seeing was reality. Henry did have some level of trust in Adam, though introducing him to his new companion was a brand new experience and he was unsure of what his reaction would be. Adam was gentle, and he was sweet, but Henry kept an eye on him all the same.
Adam was feeling a multitude of things, many new feelings flooding his brain and his body all at once. His interactions with people were minimal, his interactions with women even less, and he was still coming to terms with the concept of attraction. He knew there were different types of it, but as he looked at you on the table, he started feeling the strongest one yet. The tingle inside his chest was one he had never felt.
When Polidori had brought him to the strip club, Adam had definitely felt something. At the time he didn't fully understand it, why his body felt hotter and his pants felt tighter. The way he couldn't possibly take his eyes off of the woman in front of him, almost mesmerised by her display.Ā He had learned enough at this point to know that the feeling that night had been a primal one, a natural bodily reaction to seeing a woman in a way he had never seen one before - performing, undressed, every inch on show with the hopes of attracting her audience. If he had to think of it scientifically, then what he had seen in that club was almost like some kind of mating dance to reel him and other potential patrons in. It was superficial, an act, and there was nothing deep nor meaningful about it.
The feeling he had in this moment as he looked down at you wasn't anything like that night, at least not entirely. He still had that warmness, but this time it was more than just a rush of blood below the belt. This time it started in his chest, heat rising to his cheeks and through his bones as he stared at you on the table.
Eventually, with his thoughts somewhat gathered, Adam takes a cautious step towards you. He continues until he is near you, close enough now for you to be within arms reach.
A careful hand comes up to touch you, fingers finding your face and tracing the scars on it softly, as though scared you might break or turn to dust under his touch. His other hand extends to stroke your hair, and he finds himself running his fingers through it gently.
"Pretty." The word almost comes out subconsciously, falling out of his mouth quietly.
"You like her?" Henry watches with arms folded, and his expression is an almost proud one.
Adam is too excited to even think of the right words to describe just how much he likes you. You were the amalgamation of all of his wishes, his late night thoughts and his pleas to Henry. He can't even comprehend how happy he is, so for now he just nods, smiling at Henry as though all of his Christmases had just come at once.
"She's not ready yet, so you won't get to properly meet her for a few days, but I thought you'd at least like to see her. You've been asking me so much about what I've been doing in here, I thought you might like to know."
Adam worried that "a few days" would feel like centuries. Those few days eventually passed, though he spent every second of them counting down the time until he would finally get to meet you properly. If excitement could kill, he was sure that this is what would finish him - his thoughts were consumed by all of the things he couldn't wait to do with his new companion, the things he couldn't wait to talk to you about. The wait was excruciating, though he would eventually decide that it was worth it.
When he did finally get to meet you, he was ecstatic. Henry had kept you for some extra time, ensuring everything was ok and that you were perfectly healthy before you and Adam would live together. Adam felt like a bumbling idiot when Henry did finally bring you into the room, a million thoughts racing through his head and none of them coming out of his mouth coherently.
Adam had never felt so shy. He was almost cautious around you at first, sometimes resigning himself to just staring at you in admiration. You were all of his dreams come to life, and you were real, and you were his. For the first few days he would sometimes feel like an idiot when speaking to you, words barely making it out as his mind attempted to calm itself, shyness taking over. This didn't last long, as you always made him feel comfortable, laughing at his jokes and reassuring his nervous words.
Physically Adam was strong, but his touch was always gentle with you. You meant so much to him and he was so scared of hurting you, even if it would be unintentional.
The first time you kissed was barely a peck, lips barely brushing off each other while his hands hovered over your sides. You were nervous but Adam was worse, uncertain fingers still too shy to touch your skin any more intimately than they had done before.
It took you both some time to adjust to those things. It started slowly, shy touches exploring each other in ways neither of you were familiar with. Adam was strong, but he was gentle in this, hesitantly exploring feelings he had never known existed.
When the initial shyness blew over after a few nervous days, you both couldn't resist getting closer. He had no idea what he was doing when it came to any form of intimacy, and all he could do was move in ways his body told him to, natural reactions to the way he felt, instincts taking over whenever he would hear you moan. You both learned quickly, knew the ways you both reacted to each others touches and kisses, the things that would make your bodies shake and sweat.
Adam was always gentle with you, but sometimes he would forget his own strength when his mind was otherwise occupied. Sometimes as he finished he would grip you harder, wrapping himself around you with loving arms holding you tight. Other times his lips would bruise your neck, or yours his, though over time that action become much more intentional. Marks littered across each others skin served as reminders of what you had done, and for him it was a reminder once again that you were real, you were his, he was yours.
Henry normally just rolled his eyes at those marks. He never bothered to ask about them, he probably didn't even want to know the story of where they came from.
Adam loved having you around so much. You were so perfect to him, so like his every wish, and if he knew of a god then he would have been thanking it for bringing you to him. The closest thing he had was Henry, so he took to thanking Henry instead. You were everything he wanted - someone to talk to, someone to listen to, someone to play ping pong with. You were all of that and more - you were someone to hold, someone to kiss, someone to test new feelings and sensations with. His lonely sleepless nights were suddenly replaced by busy ones, as you each learned things Henry didn't dare teach you about.
When not in bed, one of your favourite activities with Adam was ping pong.
Adam loved ping pong. He especially loved playing it with you. He would often let you win, and always thought he was being quite subtle about it - but it was impossible not to notice the way he would suddenly start missing all of his shots anytime you were starting to lose. You would continue playing until eventually taking the victory, almost every single time.
When you would inevitably win he would hug you, pulling you into his arms with a grip he didn't realise was so tight. His hugs were almost crushing, but the only thing behind them was love, and you knew Adam never meant you any harm. Sometimes his brain would be overrun by excitement, and his body would forget his own strength.
Adam was still learning so many things - about himself, about life, about where he even came from - but now, all he wanted to learn about was you. You were every wish he ever had, suddenly come true.
