So, to summarize: they bring up the same tweet other articles have brought up (Capital), but use this to spin speculation that 1D is getting back together and that’s why fans are freaking out. Even though H and L met up in Italy over a year ago. Ok. Is this seeding the idea or just using buzz? Why they’re  latching on to this rumor in particular is odd, when they don’t normally pay much attention to such things. 

However, this is another article linking H and L in a friendlier manner in the press, which does not happen that often. All in all this article barely mentions them, and simply uses whatever buzz that tweet created to shake the 1D reunion tree for more clicks.

Larry in the news: important update

Summary:

This is an article from Wed Aug 19th 2020 that talks about Harry being spotted in Bath while taking pictures with fans. Peter Gabriel’s studio, Real World Studios, is in Bath and Harry has recorded there before.

However, the interesting part of the article is not the speculation of new music coming out but rather the UPDATE to this article made on Fri Aug 21st. They added the sections above. They mention that H+L were spotted in Italy recently (they got it wrong, the story is recent, they were seen over 1 year ago) and then use that to segway into speculating if Louis has anything to do with the new music he’s recording.

Very random to make that connection and then even more suspicious that they felt the need to add that section mentioning Harry and Louis TWO DAYS AFTER publishing the article.

Conclusion:

It seems they are trying to link Harry and Louis under the guise of new 1D music coming out. So is this all just press milking the 1D reunion speculation tree for clicks or are they trying to seed new 1D music or, lastly, are they trying to seed an ongoing relationship between Harry and Louis?

Another “Larry” article, but from 1 month ago

Summary:

It’s essentially the exact same article they’ve put out for the twitter rumor that everyone has jumped on about H+L being in Italy together. Except this one is using Louis leaving Syco instead of H+L vacationing in Italy to shake the ‘1D reunion!’ tree for clicks.

They use a photo of Harry on the thumbnail for clout, even though the article is about Louis, and include the heavily implied caption of “Harry Style and Louis Tomlinson could be back together soon” under the full picture they used in the thumbnail. Note how they also managed to misspell Harry’s last name.

It’s written by the same author as the Italy rumor author and uses much of the same blurbs about 1D reuniting, and brokers odds of the band getting back together. Blah blah blah. It’s all clickbait.

Summary:

This is such a poorly written article, it’s laughable. It misconstrued a bunch of information, just making a complete mess of the actual narrative while also managing to have several grammatically incorrect sentences. But oh well, what can we expect, right?

Anyway, they again shake the whole ‘1D is reuniting!’ tree as if it’s a given fact while using Harry’s name for clicks and clout. They even tagged H on twitter, even though they specifically mentioned L as well.

Larry being mentioned in the press again

Summary: They used the same clickbaity title on Twitter about H and L vacationing in Italy together last May to write an article that is actually about all the times OT4 have publicly hung out post hiatus. It’s actually a nice master-post of the times they got together over the past 5 years. 

Like the other articles relating to that tweet, there’s no mention of “Larry”, and it hints at a neutral friendship while roping in an article about the friendships all the boys share. Which in itself is nice to see, especially since we’ve gotten so many articles in the past that pin the boys ‘against’ each other. So, nice change, let’s hope it continues on this track.
