None of these cruelties represent extraordinary violence—they reflect day-to-day implementation of laws and regulations around the globe. Design in Question / Available at www.draw-down.com / In 2009, Ruedi Baur, Design2context, and the renowned Elisava School of Design in Barcelona launched a call for “Questions on Design” in order to create a typographical wall in the entrance area of Elisava. About a hundred persons from all over the world, #designers as well as #students, took part in the exercise. As of today, more than 700 questions have been gathered and put onto the wall. Among them, Vera Kockot and Ruedi Baur have selected the wittiest questions for this publication. They scrutinize different facets of design which are currently relevant in diverse fields, such as the natural sciences and society as a whole. A text explains the idea and the realization of the project. A tiny book that can be easily carried, this volume is a portable treasure that is easy to access and appreciate. The collected questions can be pondered alone, or used as prompts for spontaneous conversations. Call Ampersand Response⁣ Michael Dumontier & Micah Lexier⁣ Available at www.draw-down.com⁣ ⁣ Between 2011 and 2017 Canadian artists Michael Dumontier (born 1960) and Micah Lexier (born 1974) conceived this activity as a way to share with each other their mutual interest in found images, line drawings and used books.⁣ ⁣ The starting image was a circle on a rectangle; every subsequent image was visually connected to the previous one.
