27 year old James Mason in his first film - Late Extra [1935] (he’d had a bit part in The Private Live of Don Juan in 1933 but been sacked by Alex Korda).
After acting for fun at Cambridge, (while getting a first in Architecture), he made his stage debut in 1931, and was with the Old Vic company for the 1933/34 season. This is the first of a bunch of quota quickies he made and it’s not bad - he already has The Voice and a fairly natural acting style, it has Alastair Sim in (always good) and it’s a nippy journalist-chases-criminal-and-beats-the-police-to-the-story tale.
