I really want to forget about you but you make it so hard to forget. Your presence lingers, it stays between my fingers and on the space behind my ear. I try to get away from you but you're always there in every corner of my mind and in reality. Fear was all I felt when I realized that I relied on you for my happiness. I guess I lost myself in my poor pursuit of happiness. When you said that we would never work but we could still be friends-it snapped every string that was holding me together to the point that I couldn't stand looking at myself in the mirror. Every inch of me yearned for your touch and it was painful. "What am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up and your okay?"; it was exactly what I thought. The late night talks, "Good Morning" texts, the sweet lullabies; I poured my every being to you. Didn't they mean anything to you? I put down my walls because I thought that, "This time, He'll definitely take care of me." Oh boy was I wrong. Just because you couldn't figure out your own fucked up emotions doesn't mean you can fuck up mine.
With all the things that you said, what was I supposed to believe in?
