The above videos are my very last two performances after the first one we were given feedback so that we could work on the points for the last one. After my first one I was told i needed to tell the story of the song more, I felt as though I really tried to correct this in the second one even though it was mainly improvised. I was also told to be more confident which is something i am not when it comes to singing in front of people. I decided that i was to concentrate on not being more confident but just acting more confident. I think I worked and thought hard when trying to correct these for the last one. At the start of the performance I didn’t dance behind the sheet as in previous rehearsals i found this made me out of breath as i was already nervous and it just made me worse, i felt this helped. If i could of done anything different i would of worked more with the sheet and the dancers however we didn't have lots of time as we were setting the performances for everyone. I think we could of got very creative with the sheet and the effect it had on the piece. Unfortunately at the very end of my second performance one of the people aiding the sheet slipped and fell very hard on the floor. This was very hard to control as the whole of the audience were laughing and it was really hard to focus after this which evidently made me miss the very last line. I don't think this will have affected my performance too much but I do feel I didn’t keep it together as well as I could of done. I wish that i could swap the endings of my performances as i felt this could of ruined it. However I was pleased with how I had worked and devised the piece and loved working with the people in my group as we work very well together and are creative when it comes to devising. I have really enjoyed working on the performance and think there is clear progression across the videos vocal wise and performance wise. If I could do anything different I would probably have started devising the piece sooner as i did leave it a little late to start, this way then i would of had more time to be creative with the sheet and the dancers behind it. However I felt we did really well given the time I had.
Overall I am happy with my progression over this unit and am glad you can see improvements from the first to the last video. I feel as though i could of worked harder on costume and set as they were very last minute i would of loved to have had strips of coloured shiffon pieces tied to me and the dancers. I think this would of been very effective.
