The Bennett family has had its roots in Merrock for multiple generations now. Lauren and her siblings are the fourth generation that has lived in the small town so far. In the fall of 1990 the woman was born as the third of four children in total, with her younger sister following a few years after her.
The family was known as one of the more active in social life in Merrock. Her father was a volunteer firefighter while her mother was someone who helped out a lot in organising the many events for the town. It was expected from the kids that they helped out a lot as well throughout the years but especially when growing older.
Lauren turned out to be an enjoyer of going against the rules that were set by her parents. She grew up to become someone who said what she thought, who went her own way even though it was clearly not always the right way to go. Her parents often grew very annoyed with it, but the fact that she did help out whenever they asked her… She did. Throughout the years in high school, Lauren became part of the athletics teams of the local high school, even though this was for fun. The woman found her refuge in writing, something that she does keep hidden from her family. But it was not a surprise when Lauren went on to go to New York City after high school to study English Literature with a History degree as well.
The woman loved New York City but even though she enjoyed the citylife, Lauren returned back to Merrock. This due to the fact that her father passed away during her last months in the city. A heart attack was the reasoning behind his death. Lauren was definitely closest to her father and it did a number on her.
Returning to Merrock was something that was hard on her but at the same time she was returning home. Lauren started working at Tumbleweed and that helped her process the loss of her father. Her colleagues helped her through it, just as her relationship - which only lasted for a few years but it helped.
Her father had always been a lover of archery, something that they always did together. So a few years after his death, she started working at the hunting club in town. She also picked up several other things to do from time to time, all just to keep her busy. All to keep busy. She pushed away her dream of becoming a writer. It wasn’t until a conversation with her mother a few years ago made her realise that she had to slow down. Maybe do more of what she wanted to do and not because of what she wanted to do to remember her father. So that was why she finally set down - in secret - to get writing on that book she had been wanting to write for years now.
