my opinions on # freelav

i am truly so disappointed in this fandom. i hate being in it. every other day there is a new thing going on. i open instagram or twitter and there is something going on. this has got to be one of the worst things you guys have ever done.

here is some background about what happened.

gabriela’s older brother alex made a statement during his podcast saying he does not see a problem calling the corona virus the ‘chinese virus’ which is what the POTUS calls it. he had a chinese guest with him and she said she does not find it racist. wdw stans said this statement was racist and found videos/photos claiming alex was trying to influence lavender’s political views to attack the gonzalez’s. um lavender is not even 1, she has no political views..

my opinion on alex’s claims.

alex can say whatever he wants. according to the first amendment of the constitution he can and he will. alex works in politics, he will talk about these things and will also bring these things home with him. we have no right to judge him about it. now, for the POTUS, when he speaks to the country, i personally believe he should call it by the scientific name but as he has shown, that will never happen. whether people find ‘chinese virus’ racist or not, don’t blame alex, blame the POTUS because he made the name more common and wide spread. 

whatever alex has to say, any of his personal opinions, only reflect what he thinks. you can not assume that is what his whole entire family thinks. my mom voted democrat last election and my dad voted republican, that does not mean i liked either candidate. neither of their votes is going to sway my opinion in this upcoming election. the same goes for the gonzalez’s. 

my opinion on the limelight’s shit talk.

i have followed corbyn since may 2015, jonah since january 2015, zach & jack since summer of 2015 and daniel since the band was formed. i love this group of boys. they mean the world to me and let me tell you, i really do not like this fandom. 

whenever a girl got involved, i was happy. if the boy was happy, i was happy. you see, you don’t get mad because the girl is taking them away from you. you should be happy because the person you love so much is happy. that was with christina, i actually knew christina before they got involved. that was also with tatum, kay and gabriela. i will follow them and always support them no matter what. 

when jack and gabriela posted about lavender, so many of you guys were pissed off. why? who knows. probably because you aren’t the one with jack’s baby. but let me tell you something, all the bullying you did to gabriela hurt her. she isn’t a rock. she is real with emotions and is also a new mom. the father of her child is barely there, not because he doesn’t want to be but because his career is taking off and he is touring across the world to see you guys. 

what do we actually know about gabriela’s pregnancy and the first year of lavender’s life? let’s recap. gabriela had to HIDE her pregnancy. why? real reason is unknown. the stress of hiding your pregancy, not being able to document it and show everyone is unimaginable. once lavender was born, the world did not know for a whole month. on top of not being able to tell anyone about the pregnancy, imagine not being able to post newborn pictures, or tell anyone about your precious baby. then, your boyfriend has to go on tour a few weeks after she is born. now you have to try and handle it all on your own. i can not even imagine. gabriela did go and visit him a couple times throughout the year. then gabriela went to hawaii right before corona got really bad and she flew home before quarantine.

we know nothing. we only know what they post. we see the good. we see when lavender smiles and laughs, we don’t see when she cries and throws fits. we see when jack and gabriela are on good terms, what we don’t see is the hardships. we know NOTHING, may i remind you again. what we should NEVER do is go around making assumptions about people’s lives. gabriela is an amazing mother, that is something we all know for sure. jack is an amazing father. 

what i do not understand is the hashtag free lav. why was it created do you guys think lavender is in danger? is she in a jail cell? is she in need of breaking out of jail? i am confused? is gabriela not taking good enough care of her? i can answer some of these questions. lavender is not in danger, what danger would she be in? no she is not in a jail cell & she is not in jail. if you have watched gabriela’s vlogs or IGTV’s, you would know that lavender is in amazing care. we do not know what jack and gabriela’s current relationship is and the type of custody agreement they have over lavender. even if jack wanted to see lavender right now, there is a quarantine lockdown due to a pandemic. i am 90% sure he is in LA and gabriela is in florida. even if gabriela was in LA, it would be really dangerous for him to travel from his place to hers.

please, keep your nose out of other people’s business. this type of stuff is what leads to people getting really hurt. one more reminder, lavender is not even one years old. y’all are causing a whole ass fight over a baby. a baby that is not even yours. a baby that you know nothing about. you started a freaking hashtag! that is ridiculous! and by the way, gabriela is not a clout chaser.
