Griffin has adapted over thousand of years to Australian natural soils types , which are slightly acidic and low in phosphorus. Introduced grass species prefer quiet the opposite , that's why horticulalist recommend apply “starter” fertilizer and lime when sowing grass seeds. Weeping Grass doesn’t need fertiliser to germinate strongly and applying a high phosphorus fertiliser can actually prevent Weeping grass from germinating.
