You don’t know how happy it makes me to know you like FLW!! I respect your fic recs so much bc you’ve yet to steer me wrong over the last four years. I’ve read FLW twice and saved it to my kindle to reread when I need it. Something about it is so comforting even though the premise wouldn’t suggest that. This version of Dean is so raw, insecure, & vulnerable yet truthful to who he really is. His character growth is satisfying, and every library scene just makes me so warm💜I could write essays...
omg four years wow!!!!! 💞💞 yes!!! 4LW is really special imo bc it doesn’t lose any care/respect for dean and cas amongst the explicit stuff like i can’t speak for the author but it really felt like the AU scenario existed so that she could take care of both of them..... there’s SO much love and nurturing present like the slow burn happens because they’re trying, in two different environments, to make sure the other is safe and happy and whole and content. so even though there’s plenty of sex and that’s the framework, it genuinely feels like we’re just reading about these two people who were always kept back from being each other’s caretaker in canon, become everything the other person needs but doesn’t know/doesn’t allow themselves at first..... and the sexual dynamic just heightens that. it’s soft!!!! they both grow so much it’s therapeutic!!!!
