A 6 h 31 mn, les LCVP 2018 et 2019 (Landing Craft Vehicle & Personnel : barge de débarquement de véhicules et de personnel) débarquent les soldats de la Compagnie F, 2e Bataillon du 16e Régiment de la 1ère Division d'infanterie américaine (The Big Red One) entre les nids de résistance 62 et 64 (Widerstandsnest 62 et 64) à Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer.

Les troupes de la compagnie E du 16erégiment d’infantrie de la 1re division d’infanterie américaine (“Big Red One”) débarquent d'un LCVP (Landing Craft Vehicle & Personnel : barge de débarquement de véhicules et de personnel) provenant de l’USS Samuel Chase piloté par l’US Coast Guard (corps des garde-côtes des États-Unis).

Ces soldats affrontèrent la redoutable 352e division d’infanterie composée d'éléments rescapés de deux divisions d'infanterie décimées sur le  front de l'Est (268e et 321e).

Durant le débarquement initial de cette compagnie, les deux tiers des soldats de la compagnie E furent perdus.

Omaha Beach (Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France), secteur Easy Red avec pour objectif la sortie E-1, Le Ruquet - Opération Neptune - Opération Overlord
