If LDAD character asks are still open, I have a question for Thomas. (If they aren't, feel free to ignore this) Hey Thomas, do you have a... special someone? Are you open with your sexuality to the public? If you do have someone, have they ever met Virgil?

(they’re not open atm, but i can answer this one!) 

THOMAS: hey kiddo! i actually won’t have a special someone in the way you’re thinking - i’m aro-ace! i’m pretty open about it, yeah, if people ask i tell them! i identified as homoromantic asexual when i was younger, so i dated a few guys here and there, but none of the relationships stuck. eventually i settled on the aroace label and that’s where i am today!

I haven't seen anything for LDAD in a while and a question popped into my head for Patton: Is it possible for a mer to mark a human and make them effectively a member of the pod? Does magic affect humans differently in this universe? (You can answer either as yourself as the characters)

hello! the next chapter of ldad is in the works (i’m actually trying to write some today!) but my job is a little hectic so i don’t have as much free time as i’d like 

PATTON: *garbled inhuman mer shrieking*

ROMAN: magic does work on humans. there are sirens, for example, who can enchant and ensnare humans with their songs. dad says he doesn’t know of any mer that’s ever put a pod mark on a human, because marks like this to signify being a member of a pod is pretty rare. 

PATTON: *more inhuman shrieking*

ROMAN: yeah, exactly. most mer stay with the pod they’re born in, so you can tell their pod by their coloration and markings, or by their body type. the only mer who really have the power to mark other mer like this (he gestures to the band of light blue scales around his upper arm) are elder mer, so dad’s really the only one who would mark someone like this. and he’s never tried to mark a human.

(For LDAD) *Nonsense Elderitch Screeching*

PATTON: CONFUSED ELDRITCH SCREECHING 

ROMAN: he has no idea what you just said, and neither do i?

~Patton, there's a Human crushing on Logan. The Human likes him a lot~

PATTON: CONCERNED ELDRITCH SCREECHING

ROMAN: that’s not necessarily a good thing. past experience shows that if humans take an interest in you, it’s all downhill from there . . .

Patton, do you cuddle with you pod?

PATTON: EXCITED ELDRITCH SCREECHING

ROMAN: all the time! we actually sleep cuddled together into a nice little knot. one of us is always awake to look for predators, but we rotate that in shifts. we cuddle for warmth and for comfort, but we can break the knot and swim away at a moment’s notice if we have to. we love cuddling.

PATTON: SADDENED ELDRITCH SCREECHING

ROMAN: yeah. it . . . it’s not the same without logan. i can only imagine how horrible it must be for him to have to try and sleep alone.

ROMAN: he says of course, you’re still just a little guppy!

LOGAN: i am a fan of sailfish, although they are incredibly difficult to catch. i am the only one in my pod who is fast enough to catch them, and even i can only manage to catch them about forty percent of the time. but when i do catch them . . . they’re my favorite
