Kombination aus MSI X99S XPower AC und vier MSI Geforce GTX 980 knackt erstmals die 40.000 Punkte

Im Rahmen der MSI Master Overclocking Arena 2014 konnten insgesamt 136 neue Rekorde aufgestellt werden, darunter auch der Weltrekord in 3DMark Firestrike. Der britische Overclocker 8Pack steigerte hierbei den GPU-Takt der MSI Geforce GTX 980 auf beeindruckende 1.950 MHz.

Zum siebten Mal in Folge veranstaltete MSI die MSI Master Overclocking Arena (MOA), welche am 19. Oktober beim großen Finale in Taipeh mit Rekordzahlen ihren Abschluss fand. Allein bei den Grand Finals wurden 136 neue Rekorde von 18 Teilnehmern aus 14 unterschiedlichen Ländern aufgestellt. Im »NO LIMITS Battle« triumphierte Wizerty aus Frankreich, Gewinner des »Classic Battle« wurde Vivi aus Südafrika. Der deutsche Overclocker Moose83 belegte mit überzeugenden Leistungen Platz vier im »Classic Battle«.

Besonderes Highlight der MSI MOA 2014 Grand Finals war der neue Weltrekord im 3DMark Firestrike: Der britische Overclocker 8Pack konnte hier mit einem imposanten Ergebnis von 40.052 Punkten erstmals die 40.000-Marke knacken. Als Setup kam dabei ein OC-zertifiziertes MSI X99S XPower AC Mainboard in Kombination mit vier MSI Geforce GTX 980 Grafikkarten zum Einsatz. Das Mainboard zeichnet sich nicht nur durch enorme Belastungsfähigkeit dank Military Class IV Komponenten aus, sondern auch durch die speziell gestaltete Socket-Area, die extra viel Platz für besonders starke Kühlsysteme bietet. Die integrierte OC Engine erlaubt zusätzlich äußerst flexible BCLK-Anpassungen durch den dedizierten Clock-Generator. Auch die MSI High End-Grafikkarten wussten zu überzeugen: Dazu trug vor allem die Möglichkeit zur unlimitierten Steigerung des Core-Clocks bei. 8Pack konnte dies beeindruckend beweisen, indem er unter Einsatz von Stickstoffkühlung den Grundtakt der MSI Geforce GTX 980 von 1.127 MHz auf enorme 1.950 MHz anhob. Den Speicher der Grafikkarte zog er von 1.753 MHz auf 2.000 MHz. Die ebenfalls mit Stickstoff gekühlte Intel Core i7 5960X CPU brachte er im Rahmen des Weltrekords auf 5.625 MHz –eine Steigerung von 87,5 Prozent gegenüber dem Standardtakt.
