MOON 23:
When Grackledawn is forced on patrol with his mother, she pointedly avoids talking to him.

Pushed by Mistfur, Grackledawn tries to talk to his father, but Warbler tells him that if he tries to talk to him again, he'll shred him.

Mistfur crushes leaves under his paws.

Leafscar confesses to Grackledawn about nightmares of losing him.

MOON 24:
Grackledawn isn't too disappointed when Honeyheart has to help Frogsilk instead of joining him on patrol. He prefers being alone now, if he's not with his family...his TRUE family.

Leafscar sneaks out of camp with Shadetooth for some alone time.

Sable overhears Grackledawn complain about being stressed. She snaps at him to quit whining and do something useful.

Swankit was found dead out in the territory.

Leafscar clings to Swankit's scent.
Grackledawn comforts her. Leafscar tells him that with him around, the world feels less dark.

Shadetooth has a far-off look in his eye.

Sable has gotten whitecough.
Grackledawn can't help but think how easy it would be...

MOON 26:
Frostspots is killed by greencough.
Grackledawn can't find it in himself to care. He misses Swankit. He bonds with Shadetooth and Leafscar over his death instead of bonding with his blood family over his biological brother's death.

In light of Frostspots's death, Sable and Warbler try to mend things with Grackledawn, but they do a poor job of it, and it's far too late.

Grackledawn and Leafscar take Sable out into the forest.
When Sable is bloody and beaten, she begs Grackledawn to spare her, that she's his mother!
Grackledawn coldly responds that Leafscar is the only mother he has, and sits back as Leafscar deals the final killing blow.
Grackledawn and Leafscar murdered Sable.

Mistfur can't stand the sight of Sable's body.

Grackledawn had a nightmare about what he did.

Hollykit, after training as an apprentice under her mother, has become a warrior! She is now called Hollycreek.

Mistfur has become mates with Frostcrest, who joins the Clan.

Shadetooth and Leafscar have a single kit: Clovekit (f).

Mistfur leaves camp, not telling anyone what he's planning to do.

Grackledawn and Hollycreek train together.

When Grackledawn limps after a border skirmish, Warbler rolls his eyes and tells him to not be such a kit.
Grackledawn tells Leafscar and Shadetooth. Leafscar tells him that if she was leader, she would never allow any cat to treat their kit that way.

Frostcrest announces she is expecting kits.

Grackledawn sees Mistfur talking happily with Warbler across the camp.
Traitor...

Grackledawn helps Clovekit come up with a song.

Grackledawn curls with Clovekit and Leafscar in the nursery.

Grackledawn insults his father, who responds by cuffing his ear. The cuff turns into a fight, and they have to be pulled away.
Larkspurstar is angry with both of them.
Grackledawn feels like Larkspurstar was too light with Warbler. Maybe the Clan really does need a new leader....

Grackledawn wonders if StarClan is really watching.

Mistfur and Frostcrest have two kits:
Littlekit (m),
and Berrykit (f)

Mistfur is upset that Grackledawn hasn't come in to visit the kits yet.

Shadetooth tells Grackledawn that Lyregleam was looking at him funny, and acts defensive of Grackledawn.

Grackledawn murdered Larkspurstar, ensuring the injury was too great to return from.
Dovestar has become leader, and he named Leafscar--who he has a crush on--as his deputy.

Shadetooth and Grackledawn joke together.

Dovestar had a nightmare involving a twoleg trap.

Hollycreek gifts Grackledawn a flower.

Dovestar throws himself into an oncoming attack meant for Leafscar and loses a life.

Clovepaw wishes to train as a medicine cat, and Shadetooth proudly becomes her mentor.

Shadetooth tells Grackledawn that he's a really special cat, and he hopes he never changes.
wait a minute why is there a 'manipulation' trigger warning in the tags? Oh no are leaf and shade lying to grackle?

I was probably (as in subconsciously) inspired by TLK fan comics where the hyenas manipulate a cub-Scar. Like this.

First, Leaf killed Ryepaw and originally I thought she was going to not spend a lot of time with Gracklepaw (possibly out of guilt)
Then Shade killed Gull, then the two murderers became lovey-dovey
And because Gracklepaw interacted with the two frequently, their bond grew in game and they both started talking about how much they care about Gracklepaw
And that's how I got the idea!
That's also why Sable and Warbler don't have any negative parenting moments before then, it's something completely made up
